UFC FIGHTS FOR THE TROOPS III FACEBOOK PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 11/4/2013 12:18 PM

The UFC is running two events in the same week, while the bigger show will be this weekend’s UFC Fight Night 32, the more important show may be UFC Fights For The Troops III. This event does not have the biggest line up on free TV, but for all the goodwill the event provides, fans will let the promotion slide for this event. There will be four fights streaming live and free on Facebook, including key middleweight and lightweight division fights.

Kicking off the action is a middleweight division fight as Derek Brunson (10-2-0) competes against Brian “B-Hue” Houston (4-0-0). Brunson is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Chris Leben by decision at UFC 155. Houston is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, with only one fight going past the opening round. Houston was a late addition to the card after an injury to Antonio Braga Neto and that will hurt him in this fight as Brunson ends his undefeated streak.

Welterweights will step into the cage next as Seth “The Polish Pistola” Baczynski (18-10-0) battles Neil Magny (8-2-0). Baczynski will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and he has not won a fight in well over a year. Magny has split both of his UFC appearances, defeating Jon Manley and has suffered a defeat to Sergio Moraes. This is a must win fight if either competitors wants to remain in the UFC, which is why Baczynski will notch the victory.

Up next is a lightweight division fight as Yves “Thugjitsu Master” Edwards (42-20-1) faces Yancy “Frisson” Medeiros (9-1-0). Edward has only won one of his last four fights, with that lone victory coming over Jeremy Stephens at UFC On Fox V. Medeiros is currently winless in UFC competition, dropping a fight to Rustam Khabilov at UFC 159. Edwards seems to be on the tail end of a great MMA career and he will notch a victory to keep the momentum going a little longer.

Headlining this portion of the card is a middleweight division fight as Chris Camozzi (19-6-0) takes on Lorenz “The Monsoon” Larkin (13-1-0-1NC). Camozzi has won four of his last five fights, with a notable victory coming over Luiz Cane by decision at UFC 153. Larkin is currently winless in UFC competition, having lost a fight to Francis Carmont at UFC On Fox VII. Camozzi has been pretty dominant before running into Ronaldo Souza, he will return to form by defeating Larkin.
