This weekend is easily one of the biggest weekends in the twenty year history of the Ultimate Fighting Championships, as this event will mark the 20th anniversary of the promotion. The company has put a great card together for this big celebration and that extends to the Facebook portion of the preliminary card. That is because this portion of the preliminary card features plenty of stellar battles, including the UFC debut of Sergio Pettis, the brother of UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis.
Kicking off the action is a light heavyweight division attraction as Gian Villante (10-4-0) battles Cody “Donnybrook†Donovan (8-3-0). Villante is currently winless in UFC competition, having dropped a fight to Ovince St. Preux at UFC 159 in April. Donovan will be looking to rebound from his first UFC defeat, which came to the aforementioned Ovince St. Preux at UFC Fight Night 26. This is a must win situation for both competitors in this bout, but it will be Donovan getting the big victory.
Up next is a flyweight division contest as Sergio “The Phenom†Pettis (9-0-0) takes on Will Campuzano (13-4-0). Pettis will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is the current Resurrection Fighting Alliance Flyweight Champion. Campuzano is returning to the UFC after being away for almost three years, but he has gone undefeated since that first release from the promotion. This fight has a big opportunity to be the show stealer of the card, but it will be Pettis staying undefeated in the end.
Headlining this portion of the card is a welterweight division bout as Anthony “The Recipe†Lapsley (22-5-0-2NC) faces “The Kansas City Bandit†Jason High (17-4-0). Lapsley will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he will do so on the strength of a four fight winning streak. High will be looking to build on the momentum of his first UFC win, which came over James Head at UFC Fight Night 27. High has finally found his groove in the UFC and he will ride that groove to defeat the debuting Lapsley.
