In a week that is filled with plenty of big time MMA events, it is odd to think that the UFC will be sandwiched in the middle of them all. Sandwiched or not, this is still a card that should be paid attention to, especially with Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva headlining. The online streaming portion of the prelims are worth checking out as well, with a TUF: The Smashes alumni competing.
Kicking off the action is a lightweight division match up as Alex “The Dominican Nightmare†Garcia (10-1-0) battles Ben “Manimal†Wall (7-0-1). Garcia will make his UFC debut riding a four fight winning streak and he has previously fought UFC veteran Seth Baczynski. Wall will also be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he was a cast member on the UFC Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes. Wall has been having a hard time not taking fights to a decision and his lack of finishing skills will play into Garcia’s hands as he notches a victory.
Headlining this portion of the card is a middleweight division encounter as Krzysztof Jotko (13-0-0) faces Bruno “Carioca†Santos (13-0-0). Jotko will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he has only competed one time in the last year. Santos will also be returning to action after a long layoff, but is coming off of a victory over Bellator veteran Giva Santana. These are two fighters who will have some cage rust to shake off in this one, but it will be Santos remaining undefeated in the end.
