LEGACY FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 26 MAIN CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 12/3/2013 2:47 PM

Closing out the first of two big days of MMA action will be another top notch card from the Legacy Fighting Championships. This event will be headlined by a bout for the vacant featherweight title as UFC veteran Leonard Garcia faces Kevin Aguilar. Also, knockout artist George Pacurariu is in action, along with a lot of other top MMA prospects stepping into the cage.

Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division fight as Brandon “The Product” Ruiz (3-1-0) competes against Carlos Vergara (2-0-0). Ruiz will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Cody Williams at a J&C Promotions event. Vergara has already competed once in Legacy FC, having defeated Jonathan Ramirez by TKO at Legacy FC 23. Ruiz has been a dominant fighter up until his first loss, but he will rebound by dominating Vergara in the opener.

A pair of featherweights will see action next as James “Deuce” King (15-13-0) is in action against Chris “The Enigma” Pecero (9-5-0). King has only won one of his last five fights, with that lone win coming over James Hollan at a Kickass Productions event. Pecero is currently undefeated in Legacy FC competition, having defeated Adam Schindler at Legacy FC 20. King is easily the most experienced fighter that Pecero has ever faced, but Pecero will overcome that disadvantage to get the win.

Bantamweights will step into the cage next as Johnny Ray “The Judge” Rodriguez (3-1-0) does battle against Patrick “The Juggernaut” Ybarra (5-1-0). Rodriguez is currently undefeated in Legacy FC competition, having defeated both Joseph Salas and Ray Rodriguez. Ybarra is looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to UFC veteran Damacio Page at Legacy FC 20. These are two of the bantamweights under the Legacy FC banner, but it will be Ybarra getting the win in the end.

We move to the welterweight division for the next bout as Joseph Daily (4-5-0) battles Christopher Ray Lopez (3-0-0). Daily will enter the fight riding a three fight losing streak, with one of those losses coming to UFC veteran Sean Spencer. Lopez is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and he has spent his entire career in the Legacy Fighting Championships. Lopez has faced far better competition than what he is facing on Friday Night and that will show as he dominates Daily.

Up next is a featherweight division fight as Thomas “Thominhas” De Almeida (14-0-0) takes on George Pacurariu (5-2-0). De Almeida is returning to Legacy FC competition after being away for more than a year and he has only had one career fight go past the opening round. Pacurariu has split both of his past Legacy FC appearances, defeating Steven Peterson and suffering a defeat to Aaron Cerda. Pacurariu has been a highlight reel for knockouts in recent times, but the highlights will end as De Almeida remains undefeated in the end.

Headlining this card is a bout for the vacant Legacy FC Featherweight Title as Kevin “The Angel Of Death” Aguilar (8-0-0) faces Leonard “Bad Boy” Garcia (17-11-1). Aguilar has won both of his fights in Legacy FC, last defeating Hunter Tucker by submission at Legacy FC 19. Garcia has been undefeated since his UFC release, defeating both Rey Trujillo and Nick Gonzales respectively. Garcia has been on quite the roll since leaving the UFC, but that roll will end when Aguilar defeats him to win the title.
