RESURRECTION FIGHTING ALLIANCE 12 PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 1/21/2014 11:32 AM

The first Resurrection Fighting Alliance event of 2014 is upon us and thus lucky enough to check out the card will see a great event. The card itself is going to be headlined by a pair of championship bouts in the featherweight and bantamweight divisions. The preliminary card will feature four fights as well, with the son of a legendary MMA trainer stepping into the cage.

Kicking off the action is a welterweight division attraction as Cameron Diffley (3-0-0) competes against Jeff “The Bullet” Roman (0-0-1). Diffley is returning to competition after being away for more than two years, but he did finish all of his fights in the first round. Roman started off his professional MMA career in auspicious fashion, fighting Dejan Kajic to a draw at a Shinzo Fight Sport event. Roman may not have had the best start to his pro career, but he will defeat the recently inactive Diffley to get his first pro win.

Middleweight division action is up next as John “Handsome Hack” Hackleman Jr. (1-0-0) battles Howard LaCroix (0-1-0). Hackleman Jr. is the son of legendary MMA trainer John Hackleman, who made a successful pro debut by defeating Edward Hyman at BAMMA USA 11. LaCroix was unsuccessful in his professional MMA debut, dropping a fight to Moses Murrieta at BAMMA USA Pro Series III. Hackleman Jr. trains in one of the best camps in the MMA universe and that will carry him to remain undefeated in his pro career.

Up next is a featherweight division battle as Jordan Isordia (2-1-0) will be taking on Dmitry Gerasimov (2-0-0). Isordia is currently undefeated in RFA competition, having defeated Joey Angelo by unanimous decision at RFA IV. Gerasimov is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, defeating both Armen Bakanyan and Marlen Magee. Isordia has not competed since that victory at RFA IV, which is why the more active Gerasimov will pull out the win.

Headlining this portion of the card is a featherweight division fight as Perceu Friza (2-0-0) faces Boston “Boom Boom” Salmon (0-0-0). Friza made his promotional debut back at RFA IX, which is where he defeated Nick Jordan by unanimous decision. Salmon will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did go undefeated while fighting as an amateur. Friza and Salmon have both looked good at this stage of their careers, but the pro experience of Friza will carry him to victory.
