Ending another big week of MMA action will be another loaded card from the Cage Warriors promotion, which is running their second event of the year on Saturday. The event will be headlined by a welterweight division contest as UFC veteran John Maguire faces Saul Rogers. There will be three fights from the preliminary card airing on Facebook, including a key women’s division battle.
Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division contest as Patrick “Paddy†Pimblett (4-1-0) battles Martin “The Silencer†Sheridan (7-4-0). Pimblett will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Cameron Else at Cage Warriors 60. Sheridan is currently undefeated in Cage Warriors competition, having defeated Jordan Desborough at Cage Warriors 62. This is a bout that is worthy of being on the main card, but it will be Pimblett coming out on top in the end.
Up next is a women’s atomweight division bout as Irene “La Nina†Cabello (1-1-0) takes on Catherine “The Alpha Female†Costigan (3-0-0). Cabello will be looking to build on the momentum of her first pro MMA win, which came over Ritika Singh at Super Fight League 18. Costigan made her promotional debut at Cage Warriors 63, which is where she defeated Morgane Delagnau by submission. Costigan has fought far better competition when compared to Cabello and that will carry her to the victory.
Headlining this portion of the card is a welterweight division affair as Lee Caers (10-3-0) faces Merv “Mad Man†Mulholland (10-5-0). Caers is currently undefeated in Cage Warriors competition, most notably defeating Piotr Ptasinski at Cage Warriors Fight Night IX. Mulholland has won two of three under the Cage Warriors banner, but is coming off of a loss to Brad Wheeler at Cage Warriors 52. These are two competitors who have done well in promotional competition, but it will be Caers getting the duke in this one.
