One of the best MMA cards on free TV in a long time comes to us this Saturday Night as the UFC On Fox 11 card is nearly here. The event will be headlined by a heavyweight title eliminator as Travis Browne battles Fabricio Werdum. Also, there are six big fights on the Fox Sports 1 portion of the preliminary card, with a pair of top lightweights in the featured spot.
Kicking off the action is a welterweight division affair as Jordan “Young Gun†Mein (27-9-0) competes against Hernani Perpetuo (17-3-0-1NC). Mein is returning to action after being away for a full year, last losing to Matt Brown at UFC On Fox VII. Perpetuo will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he does so while riding an eight fight winning streak. Mein has been labeled the next big thing by some in the MMA community and he will resume that hype as he defeats Perpetuo.
A pair of middleweights will collide next as Caio “Hellboy†Magalhaes (7-1-0) is in action against Luke Zachrich (13-2-0). Magalhaes has won two straight under the UFC banner, last defeating Nick Ring at UFC Fight Night 33. Zachrich will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is a veteran of the Bellator Fighting Championships. Magalhaes has looked very impressive in his last two UFC outings and he will win a third straight bouts as he defeats Zachrich.
Featherweight division action will be happening next as Estevan “El Terrible†Payan (14-5-0-1NC) does battle against Alex “The Spartan†White (8-0-0). Payan is currently winless under the UFC banner, dropping fights to both Jeremy Stephens and Robbie Peralta. White will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he has only had one career fight go to a decision. White is in the perfect position to pull the upset in his UFC debut and that is exactly what will happen in the end.
The lightweight division will be featured next as Pat “Bam Bam†Healy (29-18-0-1NC) battles Jorge “Gamebred†Masvidal (25-8-0). Healy is currently winless in UFC competition, with his last loss coming to Bobby Green at UFC On Fox IX. Masvidal has won two of three under the UFC banner, most notably defeating Michael Chiesa at UFC On Fox VIII. Healy has stumbled greatly since coming to the UFC from Strikeforce and Masvidal will continue to cause him to stumble when he gets the duke.
Up next is a welterweight division attraction as Thiago “Pitbull†Alves (19-9-0) takes on Seth “The Polish Pistola†Baczynski (19-10-0). Alves is returning to competition after a two year absence as he has been dealing with a variety of injuries. Baczynski has won just one of his last three in UFC competition, with that lone win coming over Neil Magny at UFC Fights For The Troops III. It has been a long wait for Alves to return to the octagon and he will reward those who waited when he defeats Baczynski.
Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division bout as Rafael Dos Anjos (20-6-0) faces Khabib “The Eagle†Nurmagomedov (21-0-0). Dos Anjos will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak and he has not lost a bout in almost two years. Nurmagomedov has already won five fights under the UFC banner, most notably defeating Pat Healy at UFC 165. This fight is worthy of headlining any free TV UFC event, but it will be Dos Anjos ending his foe's undefeated streak.
