There is a single MMA event this coming weekend and it is a loaded pay-per-view card from the Ultimate Fighting Championships. That is because UFC 172 is coming to us this weekend with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones defending against Glover Teixeira in the main event. There are two preliminary card bouts airing on UFC Fight Pass, with a big lightweight division bout in the featured position.
Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division fight as Chris “The Real Deal†Beal (8-0-0) battles Patrick Williams (7-3-0). Beal will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is a longtime veteran of the BAMMA USA promotion. Williams will also be making his UFC debut in this fight and none of his fights have gone past the first round in the last two years. This is a battle of two top MMA prospects in this encounter, but it will be Beal remaining undefeated in the end.
Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division bout as Charlie “The Spaniard†Brenneman (19-6-0) faces Danny “Last Call†Castillo (16-6-0). Brenneman is currently winless in his second UFC run, dropping a fight to Beneil Dariush at UFC Fight Night 35. Castillo has won five of his last seven under the UFC banner, but his last fight was a loss to Edson Barboza at UFC On Fox IX. This fight is worthy of a higher position on the card, but it will be Castillo walking away with the win either way.
