After a long absence from the country, the UFC will be returning to Germany on Saturday afternoon with a stellar card of MMA action. The event will be headlined by a key middleweight division bout as Mark Munoz faces Gegard Mousasi. There are six fights on the preliminary card as well, featuring the return of Peter Sobotta to the UFC and more.
Kicking off the action is a heavyweight division bout as Ruslan “Leopard†Magomedov (11-1-0) competes against Viktor Pesta (9-0-0). Magomedov will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he has previously defeated former UFC Heavyweight Champions Tim Sylvia and Ricco Rodriguez. Pesto will also be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is a veteran of the Gladiator Championship Fighting promotion. Magomedov is on a huge roll after beating two former UFC champions and his roll will continues as he defeats Pesta.
Featherweight division action will be happening next as Maximo “Maxi†Blanco (9-6-1-1NC) does battle against Andy “The Little Axe†Ogle (9-4-0). Blanco has won just one of four fights under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Sam Sicilia at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale. Ogle has also won just one of four in UFC competition, with his lone win coming over Josh Grispi at UFC On Fuel TV VII. This is a must win scenario for both competitors in this one, but it will be Blanco getting the big win to stay under the UFC's employ.
A welterweight division bout is on the card next as Pawel Pawlak (10-0-0) is in action against Peter Sobotta (13-4-1). Pawlak will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he has only had one career fight go to a decision. Sobotta is returning to the UFC after a three-plus year absence, but he has gone undefeated since his last appearance. Sobotta has been ready for a UFC return for a long time now and he will defeat Pawlak to make a successful return.
The bantamweight division will be featured next as Iuri “Marajo†Alcantara (29-5-0-1NC) battles Vaughan Lee (14-9-1). Alcantara has won two of his last three under the UFC banner, most notably defeating Wilson Reis at UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Mousasi. Lee will be making his bantamweight division debut in this fight, after going 3-3-0 as a featherweight in the UFC. Lee has not lived up to his potential during his time in the UFC, Alcantara will spoil his bantamweight debut by pulling out the win.
Up next is a middleweight division bout as Magnus “Jycken†Cedenblad (11-4-0) takes on Krzysztof Jotko (14-0-0). Cedenblad will be looking to build on the momentum of his first UFC win, which came over Jared Hamman at UFC 164. Jotko has already competed once under the UFC banner, having defeated Bruno Santos at UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Bigfoot. These are two of the better prospects in the UFC right now, but it will be Jotko staying undefeated in the end.
Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division bout as Drew Dober (14-5-0) faces Nick Hein (10-1-0-1NC). Dober is currently winless in UFC competition, having dropped a fight to Sean Spencer at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale. Hein will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Dober had one of the better fights in his first UFC appearance and he will right the ship as he defeats Hein to get his first UFC win.
