RESURRECTION FIGHTING ALLIANCE 15 PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 6/3/2014 5:09 PM

Capping off the first of two busy days of MMA action will be another stellar card from the Resurrection Fighting Alliance. Headlining the card is a bout for the vacant RFA Middleweight Title as Kevin Casey battles Andrew Sanchez for the gold. There are four bouts on the preliminary card as well, with three undefeated fighters taking part in the festivities.

Kicking off the action is a featherweight division bout as Azor Emanoel (1-0-0) competes against Arman Bakanyan (1-2-0). Emanoel made his professional MMA debut back at Sao Jose Super Fight IV, defeating Amauri Cristovao by TKO. Bakanyan will be looking to build off the momentum of his first pro MMA win, which came over Matt Doyle at Chaos At The Casino IV. Bakanyan has stumbled a lot prior to notching that first pro win, he will return to his stumbling ways as Emanoel knocks him back to the losers column.

A light heavyweight division match is next as Livingston Lukow (1-0-0) battles Khalil “The War Horse” Rountree (0-0-0). Lukow made his professional MMA debut at Dynasty Combat Sports VII, defeating Timehin Babalola by TKO. Rountree will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did go undefeated as an amateur. Rountree had an amazing run during his time as an amateur and his pro run will start off in good fashion as he defeats Lukow.

Up next is a women's atomweight division bout as Kyra “Mogwai” Batara (1-0-0) takes on Rosa Acevedo (1-1-0). Batara made her professional MMA debut at BAMMA USA 12, which is where she defeated Misha Nassir by submission. Acevedo will be looking to rebound from her first professional MMA defeat, which came to Jocelyn Lybarger-Jones at RFA 14. This is a pretty evenly matched bout when you compare the fighters, but it will be Batara staying undefeated in the end.

Headlining this portion of the card is a featherweight division bout as Altair Alencar (7-1-0) faces Justin “The Mortal Sinn” Linn (5-1-0). Alencar will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak and only one of his bouts went to a decision. Linn will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak and he is a veteran of the BAMMA USA promotion, This bout could have easily been a part of the main card, but it will be Alencar getting the win either way.
