In what many consider to be the biggest card in the history of Cage Warriors will happen on Saturday as the promotion presents Cage Warriors 69. The event features two separate main card that will be headlined by two different championship bouts. There are four fights taking place on the preliminary card, including a key women's bantamweight contest.
Kicking of the action is a light heavyweight division attraction as Michael Ravenscroft (1-2-0) competes against Darren Stewart (0-0-0). Ravenscroft has only competed once in the last eight years, which was a loss to Ihab Janeb at Cage Warriors Fight Night 11. Stewart will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did go undefeated as an amateur. Stewart has gotten the perfect opponent to make his pro MMA debut against and Stewart will get the in to make a successful pro debut.
A pair of bantamweights are battling next as Aaron “Smackwell†Blackwell (12-9-1) battles Adam Ventre (3-0-0). Blackwell will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak and he is a former Into The Cage MMA Bantamweight Champion. Ventre has already competed once under the Cage Warriors banner, having defeated Anthony Phillips at Cage Warriors 68. Blackwell has seen a career resurgence in the last year and that resurgence will continue as he ends the undefeated streak of Ventre.
Up next is a women's bantamweight division bout as Kerry “Rocksteady†Hughes (1-1-0) takes on Amanda Kelly (1-1-0). Hughes is currently windless under the Cage Warriors banner, having dropped a fight to Magnesia Wizened at Cage Warriors 62. Kelly will be looking to rebound from her first professional MMA defeat, which came to Laura Hogarth at Cage Warriors 64. This is a must win situation for both competitors in this one and it will be Kelly getting that much needed win.
Headlining this portion of the card is a flyweight division bout as Brett “Li' Ninja†Ca swell (4-1-0) faces Spencer “The Hurt Locker†Hewitt (11-7-0). Ca swell is currently undefeated in Cage Warriors competition, having defeated Paul Rogers at Cage Warriors 59. Hewitt has only won two of his last seven bouts, with his last fight being a victory over Cameron Else at Cage Warriors 64. Hewitt has been on some hard time lately and those hard times will continue as Ca swell defeats him to get the win.
