There are two separate UFC Fight Night events taking place this Saturday and it will be UFC Fight Night 43 kicking off the festivities. The event is headlined by a middleweight division attraction as Nate Marquardt battles James Te Huna. There are six fights on the preliminary card, which will feature top prospect Neil Magny facing Rodrigo De Lima.
Kicking off the action is a light heavyweight division affair as Sean “The Real OC†O'Connell (15-5-0) does battle against Gian Villante (11-5-0). O'Connell is currently winless in UFC competition, having lost to Ryan Jimmo at the UFC Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale. Villante has just won one of three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Cody Donovan at UFC 167. This is a must win scenario for both competitors in this one, but it will be Villante getting the much needed win.
The lightweight division will be featured next as Ian “Enty†Entwistle (8-1-0) competes against Daniel “The Hangman†Hooker (10-4-0). Entwistle will be making his UFC debut in this bout and none of his professional MMA bouts have gone past the opening round. Hooker will also be making his UFC debut in this fight and he will do so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Entwistle has had an incredible run of first round finishes in his career and the run will continue when he defeats Hooker.
Welterweight division action is happening next as Rodrigo “Monstro†De Lima (8-1-1) is in action against Neil Magny (10-3-0). De Lima will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is a veteran of the Brazil based Jungle Fight promotion. Magny will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak, last defeating Tim Means at UFC Fight Night: Brown vs. Silva. Magny is quickly coming into his own in the UFC and he will win his third straight bout as he defeats De Lima.
More welterweight action is next as Vik “The Spartan†Grujic (6-3-0) will be battling Chris Indich (5-2-0). Grujic is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a fight to Nordine Taleb at the UFC Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale. Indich is also winless in UFC competition, with his loss coming to Richard Walsh at the UFC Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale. This is a must win scenario for both competitors in this one and it will be Grujic picking up the much needed victory.
Up next is a flyweight division attraction as Roldan “The Executioner†Sangcha'an (4-0-0) takes on Richie “Vas†Vaculik (9-2-0). Sangcha'an will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he has yet to have any of his pro fights go to a decision. Vaculik is currently winless thus far in his UFC run, having dropped a fight to Justin Scoggins at UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Silva. Vaculik has fought far better competition when compared to Sangcha'an and that experience will get him the win.
Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division bout as Dashon “Fly Boy†Johnson (9-0-0) faces Jake “The Celtic Kid†Matthews (5-0-0). Johnson will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he has spent his entire career in the Xplode Fight Series. Matthews will also be making his UFC debut in this fight and he has only had one career fight go to the judge's scorecard. This is a great fight to cap off the preliminary card and it will be Johnson staying undefeated in the end.
