Another weekend of MMA action is upon us and much like last weekend, there are two UFC events happening. The first of the two events will be UFC 175, which features Chris Weidman defending the middleweight title against Lyoto Machida. There will be four fights airing on the Fox Sports 1 portion of the preliminary, with Urijah Faber featured in the top spot.
Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division attraction as Rob Font (10-1-0) competes against George Roop (15-10-1). Font will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he will be doing so on the strength of a nine fight winning streak. Roop has seen a career resurgence as a bantamweight in the UFC, winning three of four as a bantamweight in the UFC. Font has a lot of momentum heading into his UFC debut, but that momentum will come to a stop as Roop pulls out the win.
A middleweight division bout is next as Chris Camozzi (19-7-0) battles Bruno “Carioca†Santos (13-1-0). Camozzi will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak and he has not won a fight in just over a full year. Santos is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a fight to Krzysztof Jotko at UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Bigfoot. This is a must win situation for both competitors in this one, but it will be Santos getting the much needed win.
Up next is a welterweight division affair as Ildemar “Marajo†Alcantara (20-6-0) takes on Kenny Robertson (13-3-0). Alcantara has won three of four during his time in the UFC, most notably defeating Wagner Prado at UFC On FX VII. Robertson has rotated wins and losses in his second UFC run, with his last fight being a win over Thiago Perpetuo at UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Henderson II. Alcantara is quickly building himself into a contender in the welterweight division and he will continue to rise as he defeats Robertson.
Headlining this portion of the card is a bantamweight division bout as Alex “Bruce Leeroy†Caceres (10-5-0-1NC) faces “The California Kid†Urijah Faber (30-7-0). Caceres will enter the bout riding a four fight winning streak, most notably defeating Sergio Pettis at UFC On Fox X. Faber will be fighting for the first time since losing to then-UFC Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao at UFC 169. Faber is still as dangerous as ever in the bantamweight division and he will prove that when he ends the losing streak of Caceres.
