ONE FC 18 MAIN CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 7/10/2014 12:35 PM

This is only a single MMA event for all the MMA fans to check out this weekend and that event is a loaded One FC 18 card. The event will be headlined by a One FC Featherweight Title eliminator as Eric Kelly faces Rob Lisita. Also, Rafael Nunes faces Koji Ando and plenty of top international prospects will be in competition.

Kicking off the action is a lightweight division bout as Rayner “King Karabaw” Kinsiong (2-0-0) competes against Eliot Corley (1-2-0). Kinsiong will be making his One FC debut in this fight and his previous two bouts have lasted under a minute of total time when added up. Corley will also be making his One FC debut in this fight and this will be his return to action after a year layoff. Kinsiong is making his One FC debut after two spectacular outings elsewhere and he will defeat Corley to make a successful promotional debut.

Bantamweight division action will be happening next as Nick “Diaz” Lee (2-1-0) does battle against Ming Yen “Sam” Sung (2-1-0). Lee will be making his One FC debut in this fight and he has spent his entire career in the Ultimate Beatdown promotion. Sung will also be making his One FC debut in this bout and he will be returning to action after a two year layoff. The long layoff is going to affect Sung badly in this one as Lee will make a successful promotional debut.

A pair of heavyweights will collide next as Chi Lewis “Chopper” Parry (5-0-0-1NC) is in action against Alain “The Panther” Ngalani (1-1-0-1NC). Parry has already fought Ngalani, but the bout was a no contest after an accidental knee strike to the groin. Ngalani has spent his entire career in One FC, where he has already earned a single victory, single defeat and a single no contest. Parry should have dominated Ngalani the first time around and he will dominate him this time to get the win.

More heavyweight division action is on the card next as Mahmoud “Hellboy” Hassan (1-3-0) clashes with Paul “Typhoon” Cheng (4-1-0). Hassan will enter the fight riding a three fight losing streak and he has not won a bout in a little over two years. Cheng is currently undefeated in One FC competition, having defeated Alain Ngalani at One FC 13. Hassan has no business at all competing on the main card and Cheng will dominate him to get another One FC victory.

The light heavyweight division will be featured next as Mohamed “Felix” Ali (9-6-0) stands across the cage from Jake Butler (3-1-0). Ali will be making his One FC debut in this fight and he is a longtime veteran of the Cage Warriors promotion. Butler has spent his entire career in the One FC promotion and he has only had one career fight go past the first round. Butler has been looking for the marquee win to move up the rankings and he will get it when he defeats the Cage Warriors veteran.

Another bantamweight division bout is next as Yusup “Maestro” Saadulaev (12-3-1-1NC) battles Koetsu Okazaki (9-3-1). Saadulaev will be returning to One FC after a one year absence, having competed in the Absolute Championships Berkut promotion. Okazaki will be looking to build on the momentum of his first One FC win, which came over Josh Alvarez at One FC 13. These are two of the better bantamweights in One FC right now, but it will be Saadulaev notching the win.

Up next is a lightweight division bout as Rafael “Indio” Nunes (10-0-0) takes on Koji “The Commander” Ando (9-3-2). Nunes will be making his One FC debut in this fight and he is a longtime veteran of the Max Fights promotion. Ando will also be making his One FC debut in this fight and he has won six of his last seven fights heading into his debut. This is a bigger lightweight bout than most people figured going in and it will be Nunes getting the big victory.

Headlining this card is a One FC Featherweight Title eliminator as Eric “The Natural” Kelly (10-1-0) faces “Ruthless” Rob Lisita (14-5-0). Kelly has won three of four fights under the One FC banner, most notably defeating UFC veteran Jens Pulver at One FC V. Lisita is currently undefeated under the One FC banner, having defeated Yusuke Kawanago at One FC 15. The winner of this fight will be in line for a featherweight title bout and it will be Kelly getting that title shot.
