Shortly after his Bellator MMA release, Eddie Alvarez has signed with the UFC and will face Donald Cerrone at UFC 178. Cerrone was set to face Bobby Green at the event, Green will now be pulled from the card and will be booked at a future event. Alvarez will be making his highly anticipated UFC debut in this fight and he is a multiple time Bellator Lightweight Champion. Cerrone will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak, most notably defeating Jim Miller at UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Miller. UFC 178 takes place on September 27th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Demetrious Johnson and Chris Cariaso headlining.
