For the first time this season, there will not be a championship bout of any kind headlining a Bellator MMA card. Even without a title on the line, a middleweight bout between Melvin Manhoef and Doug Marshall is still a fight worthy of main event status. If that wasn't enough, knockout Artist Brian Rogers competes and a pair of top rated featherweights are in action.
Kicking off the action is a heavyweight division affair as Javy “Eye Candy†Ayala (7-3-0) competes against Raphael “The Silencer†Butler (8-0-1). Ayala is currently undefeated in Bellator MMA, last defeating Eric Prindle by third round TKO at Bellator 111. Butler has been competing in Bellator MMA for over a year now and he has already compiled three wins in the promotion. Bellator MMA is starting to grow a respectable heavyweight division and Butler will stay undefeated in the end to become a top contender.
A pair of featherweights will collide next as Martin “.50 Calliber†Stapleton (13-3-0) battles Goiti Yamauchi (17-2-0). Stapleton is currently winless under the Bellator MMA banner, with one of those losses coming to tournament competitor Saad Awad. Yamauchi has won three of four in Bellator MMA and he competed on the inagural Bellator MMA pay-per-view. Yamauchi is one of the better featherweights right now in Bellator and that will be proven when he notches the win.
Up next is a middleweight division bout as Rafael Carvalho (9-1-0) takes on Brian “The Professional Predator†Rogers (11-6-0). Carvalho will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he does so while riding a nine fight winning streak. Rogers has only won just one of his last three in Bellator MMA and he is a multiple time tournament participant. Rogers is easily the highlight reel of knockouts in Bellator MMA and he will add another to the list when he defeats his late replacement opponent.
Headlining this card is a middleweight division attraction as Melvin “No Marcy†Manhoef (28-11-1-1NC) faces Doug “The Rhino†Marshall (18-7-0). Manhoef will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he has also competed as a professional kickboxer. Marshall will be competing for the first time since losing a title bout to Alexander Shlemenko at Bellator 109. This fight should be nothing short of a brutal slugfest and it will be Manhoef making a successful promotional debut.
