There are four MMA events taking place this weekend and three of those four events are happening on Friday Night. The second of those events will be Legacy FC 35, which is headlined by a bout for the Legacy FC Light Heavyweight Title as Myron Dennis defends against Leonardo Leite. Also, UFC veteran Daniel Roberts competes and plenty of top MMA prospects are stepping into the cage.
Kicking off the action is a middleweight division bout as Rafael Lovato Jr. (0-0-0) competes against Canaan “Super Beast†Grigsby (4-1-0). Lovato Jr. will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight and he has no amateur experience to speak of. Grigsby will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak, which includes a win over Strikeforce veteran Lumumba Sayers. With little known about Lovato Jr. and Grigsby coming off such a big win, I will go with Grigsby spoiling the pro debut of Lovato Jr..
A pair of lightweights will be colliding next as Jesse Chaffin (5-2-0) does battle against James “Whitey†Warren (5-1-0). Chaffin has won four of his last five fights and he is a longtime veteran of the Xtreme Fight League promotion. Warren will be entering the bout on a two fight winning streak, but he has not competed in nearly a full year. These are two fighters who both have a bright future ahead of them, neither have been very active as of late, Chaffin will be getting the win in the end though.
The welterweight division will be featured next as Derrick “D-Rod†Krantz (15-8-0) is in action against Daniel “Ninja†Roberts (15-5-0). Krantz has only won just one of his last three fights, with that lone win coming over UFC veteran Kyle Bradley. Roberts has won three of four fights since his UFC release, which includes wins over UFC veterans Brian Foster and Brock Jardine. Roberts should be getting another shot in a bigger promotion and he will be getting another shot at the bigger shows when he defeats Krantz.
More welterweight division action is happening next as Edward Cline (8-3-1) battles Nolan Norwood (5-3-0). Cline is a longtime veteran of the Xtreme Fight League promotion, where he earned six of his eight career victories. Norwood has won two of his last three fights and he has previously competed against UFC veteran Neil Magny. Cline has been waiting a longtime to compete on a bigger stage and he will show why he belongs when he defeats Norwood.
Up next is a middleweight division attraction as Levi “The Marine†Avera (18-14-0) takes on Andrew “The Sniper†Todhunter (6-0-0). Avera will enter the fight riding a four fight losing streak and he has not won a bout in well over two years. Todhunter has already competed once under the Legacy FC banner and he has yet to see a fight go to a decision. Avera is easily the most experienced fighter that Todhunter has faced, but Todhunter will stay undefeated in the end.
Headlining this card is a bout for the Legacy FC Light Heavyweight Title as champion Myron Dennis (10-3-0) defends against Leonardo Leite (4-0-0). Dennis will be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating UFC veteran Paul Buentello at Legacy FC 29. Leite will not only be making his Legacy FC debut in this fight, but he will also be making his North American MMA debut as well. Dennis is coming off of the biggest win thus far in his MMA career and he will keep the belt around his waist as he ends Leite’s undefeated streak.
