RESURRECTION FIGHTING ALLIANCE 19 PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 10/7/2014 3:01 PM

In between a pair of events from Bellator MMA and the World Series Of Fighting will be a stacked card from the Resurrection Fighting Alliance. The event will be headlined by a bout for the vacant RFA Middleweight Title as Jake Collier faces Gabriel Checco. There are a total of four fights on the preliminary card and they will feature four undefeated fighters in action.

Kicking off the action is a lightweight division bout as Mike Zimmer (4-2-1) competes against Jacob Ouradnik (1-0-0). Zimmer will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he is a veteran on the Cage Fighting Xtreme promotion. Ouradnik made his professional MMA debut earlier this year at a Driller Promotions event, defeating Charles Hansen by submission. Zimmer has been on a stumbling road in his last few bouts and those stumbles will continue as he suffers a defeat to Ouradnik.

A pair of welterweights will collide next as Zak Ottow (6-2-0) will be standing across the cage from Nate Howe (6-3-0). Ottow is currently undefeated in RFA competition, having defeated Matt Gauthier by submission at RFA VIII. Howe will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he has failed to win regional MMA gold in his previous two attempts. This fight should be the best encounter on the preliminary card and it will be Ottow walking away with the victory.

Up next is a welterweight division affair as Kyle Todd (2-0-0) looks for a victory as he battles Jacob Maher (1-0-0). Todd will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, having previously spent his entire career in Driller Promotions. Maher made his professional MMA debut earlier this year at Impact Fighting Championships 12, defeating Drury Cook. This is the lone battle of the undefeated on the entire card, but it will be Todd staying undefeated in the end.

Headlining this portion of the card is a women’s atomweight division bout as Raquel “Rocky” Magdaleno (2-0-0) faces “Sassy” Cassie Rodish (4-4-0). Magdaleno will be making her RFA debut in this fight, having spent her whole career in the North American Fighting Championships. Rodish has won four of her last five fights and she is a veteran of the Invicta Fighting Championships promotion. Rodish is far better than her record would suggest and that will be proven as she ends the undefeated streak of Magdaleno.
