There are only two events left before the current season of Bellator MMA comes to a close and Bellator 130 is an event worth checking out. The event will be headlined by a light heavyweight title bout as Emanuel Newton defends against Linton Vassell. Also, TNA Champion Bobby Lashley returns to Bellator MMA and tournament winner Dave Jansen is in action.
Kicking off the action is a lightweight division bout as Rick “Genghis†Hawn (18-3-0) competes against Dave “The Fugitive†Jansen (19-2-0). Hawn is fighting for the first time since unsuccessfully challenging welterweight champion Douglas Lima at Bellator 117. Jansen was the winner of the season eight lightweight tournament, opting to face Hawn before getting his title shot. Jansen is a legitimate threat to lightweight champion Will Brooks and he will get his shot after defeating Hawn.
A women’s featherweight division bout is happening next as Annalisa “No Fear†Bucci (7-3-0) battles Marloes “Rumina†Coenen (21-6-0). Bucci has won six of her last seven bouts and this fight will be marking her North American MMA debut. Coenen will also be making her Bellator MMA debut and she is a former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Coenen is one of the best female MMA competitors in the world right now and she will start off her Bellator MMA career on the right foot with a victory.
Up next is a heavyweight division attraction as Karl “The Wrecking Machine†Etherington (9-0-0) takes on Bobby “The Dominator†Lashley (11-2-0). Etherington will be returning after a year layoff and he has yet to see a fight go past the opening round of action. Lashley is currently undefeated in Bellator MMA competition and he is the current TNA Wrestling Heavyweight Champion. Etherington is not a cupcake fighter that Lashley has been handed in the past, but Lashley’s dominating wrestling skills will still earn him the victory.
Headlining this card is a Bellator Light Heavyweight Title Fight as champion Emanuel “The Hardcore Kid†Newton (24-7-1) defends against Linton “The Swarm†Vassell (14-3-0-1NC). Newton will be making the second defense of his title, last defending it against Joey Beltran at Bellator 124. Vassell will enter the fight riding a nine fight winning streak and he has not suffered a defeat in over four years. Vassell is a far more worthy challenger when compared to Newton’s last challenger in Joey Beltran, but Newton will still be walking away as champion in the end.
