CAGE FURY FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 43 MAIN CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 10/30/2014 10:07 PM

History will be made this coming Saturday Night as the New Jersey based Cage Fury Fighting Championships makes their pay-per-view debut. The event will be headlined by a slew of title bouts, with welterweight champion Jonavin Webb defends against former Bellator Welterweight Champion Lyman Good. Also, three more championships will be up for grabs and Jordan Stiner faces Jonathan Delbrugge in the pay-per-views lone non-title fight.

Kicking off the action is a lightweight division attraction as Jonathan “Devastator” Delbrugge (5-1-0) competes against Jordan Stiner (8-1-0). Delbrugge has won two of three fights in CFFC competition, last defeating Stephen Singleton at CFFC 32. Stiner has competed in CFFC for the majority of his career, having won five of six fights in the promotion. The winner of this contest could be the top contender for the lightweight title and it will be Stiner becoming a top contender.

A CFFC Heavyweight Title bout is next as champion Azunna “Zulu” Anyanwu (7-2-0) defends against Plinio Cruz (6-5-0). Anyanwu will be making the second defense of his title, last defending it against Keith Bell at CFFC 37 in June of this year. Cruz has only competed one time in the last two years, which was a submission victory over JA Dudley at CFFC 34. This is the biggest mismatch of any fight on this card and it will be Anyanwu easily holding onto the gold in this one.

The vacant CFFC Bantamweight Title is up for grabs as Jimmie “El Terror” Rivera (14-1-0) battles Anthony “The Death Dealer” Durnell (14-4-0). Rivera will enter the fight riding a thirteen fight winning streak, with some of those wins coming in Bellator MMA and the World Series Of Fighting. Burnell will be returning to action after a year layoff and he is riding a three fight winning streak at this time. Rivera is one of the best fighters not to be signed to a major promotion right now, but more people will be checking him out when he wins the gold.

Up next is a fight for the vacant CFFC Middleweight Title as Ronald “The Choir Boy” Stallings (12-5-0-1NC) faces Tim “The South Jersey Strangler” Williams (9-1-0). Stallings will be entering the fight riding a three fight winning streak, plus he has fought UFC veterans Philippe Nover, Adlan Amagov and Dante Rivera. Williams has won four of five fights in CFFC competition, with his lone career defeat coming to UFC veteran Dustin Jacoby. These two fighters have fought some top notch competition in their careers, but it will be Stallings leaving as champion.

Headlining this card is a CFFC Welterweight Title bout as champion Jonavin “Spyder” Webb (7-0-0) puts the belt on the line against Lyman “Cyborg” Good (16-3-0). Webb will be making the first defense of his title, which he won by defeating UFC veteran Dan Stittgen at CFFC 38. Good has won five of his last six fights and he was the inaugural Bellator MMA Welterweight Champion. Good was once considered to be one of the better welterweights in the world right now and he will return to that status as he wins the gold.
