With five big MMA events taking place this weekend, it seems like it will take a big effort to get a little attention this weekend. Attention must be given to Resurrection Fighting Alliance 20 on Friday Night, which features Luke Sanders facing Jarred Mercado for the vacant bantamweight title in the main event. There are only two preliminary card fights taking place at the event, with a few female MMA scrappers in the featured spot.
Kicking off the action is a welterweight division attraction as Chris “College†Mierzwiak (4-3-0) battles “Gentleman†Joe Miles (2-0-0). Mierzwiak will be making his RFA debut in this fight and he does so after being away from MMA for nearly two years. Miles will also be making his RFA debut in this fight and he is a veteran of the Fight To Win MMA promotion. Mierzwiak is coming off of a long layoff and that is going to hurt him in this one as Miles remains undefeated in the end.
Headlining this portion of the card is a women’s atomweight division bout as Kyra “Mogwai†Batara (1-1-0) faces Stephanie “The Scrapper†Skinner (3-5-0). Batara is currently winless in RFA competition, having dropped a fight to Rosa Acevedo by decision at RFA 15. Skinner has rotated wins and losses in her last five fights, with her last fight being a win over Angelica Chavez at Combat Xtreme MMA. Skinner is actually a very good fighter despite her poor record, but she will improve that record when she defeats Batara in this one.
