Saigon: Redemption Realized?
Saturday December 7, 2014 was a night of celebrating the holiday spirit… the ECWA faithful lined up to donate toys to the annual Toys for Tots toy drive for the US Marines. However, for a member of the ECWA roster it was truly a night to celebrate… or so it seemed.
Matt Saigon took the Boss’s Challenge head-on… he took his friend head-on… he went for broke with his career, his hopes, and his dreams all on the line for a chance… just one chance to earn what he so rightfully deserved.
Saigon and Kekoa the Flyin’ Hawaiian fought and clawed their way through a brutal and sometimes uncomfortable match that held as much pain as emotion for both men. Back and forth they went, but in the end the will of a man possessed could not, would not be denied. ‘The Boss’ Mike Tartaglia couldn’t hold back the storm and he could only watch as all his evil plans went for naught. Matt Saigon won! He defeated the Boss’s Challenge! He had overcome a man he considered his brother. MATT SAIGON HAD FINALLY EARNED THE RIGHT TO BATTLE FOR THE ECWA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!
Exhausted… Kekoa and Saigon embraced each other. Little did the Vietnam Phenom know it was for the last time as friends. Right on cue, Tartaglia revealed his sinister plot. Kekoa would drill Saigon with a brutal super kick ending a years long friendship and brotherhood.
For the fans who supported him and for Saigon himself it was a bittersweet moment. He had finally persevered… he had fought… he had given his blood, sweat, and tears… he had earned the respect and opportunity he had so rightfully deserved… he had his chance at gold… but at what cost?
Later in the night, Tartaglia would finish off quite possibly the biggest betrayal in ECWA history. Using Kekoa as his new pawn, he would cheat Bobby Shields out of his ECWA Heavyweight Championship to let Ricky Martinez become the NEW ECWA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! A new alliance known as the ‘Future of the Business’ had come into focus. Kekoa and Martinez stood tall as Shields could do nothing to defend himself or his title. Enter Matt Saigon. Rallying, Saigon and Shields would try to combat this new found threat.
But it wasn’t meant to be. The newly crowned champion and Kekoa laid waste to Bobby Shields and Saigon. The fans jeered and showcased their disgust for this new development taking ECWA by storm.
It’s all come to a head.
Saturday January 17, 2014 it’s ‘New Year’s Resolution IV’ in the ECWA . But it’s more than that. ‘The Vietnam Phenom’ Matt Saigon FINALLY gets his chance… it’s Matt Saigon vs. Ricky Martinez with “Big Red” aka the ECWA Heavyweight Championship on the line!
It’s become personal… it’s become an obsession… and Saigon’s chance to RISE is NOW!
Will Ricky Martinez show why he calls himself the ‘Future of the Business’ and start a reign of terror in the ECWA?
Or will Matt Saigon complete a journey that’s been years in the making?
Only time will tell… but you’ll have to be there to find out what’s in store next in the ECWA!
