WSOF Light Heavyweight Title Tournament Semi-Final Round Fight
David Branch (15-3-0) vs. Ronny Markes (15-3-0)
Branch is the current WSOF Middleweight Champion and he is making his WSOF Light Heavyweight Division debut here. Markes is a fellow UFC veteran who is undefeated in WSOF competition, having defeated Cully Butterfield at the WSOF 12. If Branch were to win the tournament and the title, he would be the first two division champion in a major organization since Dan Henderson held two titles simultaneously in PRIDE. Markes did win three of five fights under the UFC banner, with a notable win coming over Aaron Simpson at UFC On Fuel TV I. Markes is too reliant on just his wrestling game to provide any real problems for Branch, who uses his striking to finish Markes in the third.
Co-Main Event
WSOF Lightweight Division Fight
Joe Condon (12-7-0) vs. “Notorious†Nick Newell (11-1-0)
Condon is currently undefeated under the WSOF banner, having defeated Jonathan Nunez by submission at the WSOF 17. Newell will be returning to action for the first time since losing to WSOF Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje at the WSOF 11. Condon is a longtime veteran of the King Of The Cage promotion, where he won four of nine fights during his time there. Newell won two fights in the WSOF before dropping a bout to Justin Gaethje, most notably defeating TUF alumni Keon Caldwell at the WSOF IV. Newell has gone further than anybody has ever thought considering he only has one arm, he submits Condon early in the first round.
WSOF Lightweight Division Fight
Ozzy Dugulubgov (6-2-0) vs. Lucas Montoya (8-3-0)
Dugulubgov has won three of four fights under the WSOF banner, most notably defeating Keon Caldwell at the WSOF 13. Montoya is a late replacement for UFC veteran Melvin Guillard and he will enter the bout riding a four fight winning streak. Montoya would have stood a better chance if he had more than four days’ notice to fight, Dugulubgov gets a quick TKO in this one.
WSOF Welterweight Division Fight
Ben “Phoenix Jones†Fodor (5-0-1) vs. Emmanuel Walo (7-2-1)
Fodor will be making his WSOF debut in this fight and he once challenged for the Super Fight League America Welterweight Title, the fight ended in a draw. Walo is currently undefeated under the WSOF banner, having defeated Tenyeh Dixon at the WSOF 13. There is no way that the WSOF puts Fodor in a spot where he can lose with all of the publicity he got on ESPN, Fodor gets the first round TKO here.
WSOF Heavyweight Division Fight
Juliano “Banana†Coutinho (6-1-0) vs. Steve Mocco (4-1-0)
Coutinho will be making his WSOF debut in this fight and he is a longtime veteran of the Cage Fighting Xtreme promotion. Mocco is currently winless under the WSOF banner, having dropped a fight to current WSOF Heavyweight Champion Smealinho Rama at the WSOF Canada. Mocco has one of the better wrestling games in the WSOF and he smothers Coutinho with his wrestling game to get a decision.
