VINTAGE WRESTLING MAYHEM RESULTS FROM PORT RICHEY, FL FEATURING DARK CITY FIGHT CLUB VERSUS DOS BEN DEJOS AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 5/17/2015 1:51 AM
On Saturday night, Vintage Wrestling held the first night of their double shot weekend in Port Richey, Florida with their Mayhem show.

Here are the results:

Match Number One: Torcher defeated Deathrow Jethro. During the match, the referee was knocked out by Jethro. Kubiak, who was the ringside enforcer, checked on the referee and was pushed by Jethro. Kubiak made the count.

Match Number Two: Beastmode successfully defended the Vintage Tag Team Titles against Rome and PR Hound Dogg.

Milo Beasley hosted the Milo Beasley Show in the ring and had the Sevenfold Saints as his guests to talk about their Vintage Tag Title Match on Sunday in Orlando. They vowed to win the Tag Titles but were interrupted by Edward Malken. Eventually, the Sevenfold Saints took care of Malken.

Match Number Three: Mike Cruz defeated Nooie Lee, Lince Dorado and ‘Mr. 450’ Jesus DeLeon in a Four Way Match when Cruz pinned Lee after a low kick.

There was a brief intermission.

Match Number Four: Leo Gold defeated Francisco Ciatso by disqualification when Ciatso hit Gold with Gold’s football helmet.

Match Number Five: Samuel Shaw defeated Nick Fame by submission.

Match Number Six: Dark City Fight Club defeated Dos Ben Dejos with the Greater Good on Cruz.

After the match Jon Davis cut a promo about how their match was an example of tag team wrestling.

Match Number Seven: Afroboy defeated Chico Adams to retain the Vintage Internet Title

The main event was scheduled to be a Triple Threat Match for the Vintage Heavyweight Title with Simon Sez defending against Ralph Mosca and David Mercury. Mercury cut a promo asking Mosca if he was going to help him beat Sez since Vintage was invading ACW territory. Mosca flipped off Mercury and Sez cut a promo, but was attacked from behind by Stateline. Francisco Ciatso came out to help Mosca and Sez and a six man tag match was set up.

Match Number Eight: Ralph Mosca, Francisco Ciatso, and Simon Sez defeated David Mercury and Stateline.

Brief Thoughts on the Show

There was a good sized crowd for the company’s debut in the building. With the inclusion of some talent from the area, it might have helped the size of the crowd even though some of the talent has regularly worked in the Tampa area.

It was weird to hear so many people on promos call the city they were in ‘New Port Richey’ when the show was in Port Richey. New Port Richey is a few miles from Port Richey.

There were a number of wrestlers on the show who I had not seen in the ring in a long time. One of them was Nooie Lee, who was a regular in FIP and Pro Wrestling Riot a few years ago. Nooie was wearing his 2 Fast and Furious ring gear, for which he was teamed with Jerrelle Clark in FIP and other companies in Florida.

I thought the match of the night was the Dos Ben Dejos versus Dark City Fight Club Match. With all of the big shows going on this weekend from WWE and Ring of Honor, I thought this match was on par with the top matches from those companies. These are two of the best tag teams that will give you everything if the crowd is 200 or 20,000. One of the highlights of this match was the POUNCE that Jon Davis gave to Rios.

If you see a show where these two teams are wrestling, GO to that show.

The other match that I thought stood out was the Four Way Match. All four men had good chemistry in the ring and everyone appeared to have a chance to win the match. There were some good sequences in the match. I don’t know if Cruz turned heel during the last show, but he showed a lot more aggression and less interest in following the rules.

Vintage Wrestling returns to action on Sunday afternoon in Orlando with A Call to Arms with a 5:00 PM bell time.
