BELLATOR 143 PREVIEW & PREDICTIONS

By David Tees on 9/24/2015 5:59 PM

Coming off of the hugely successful Bellator MMA Dynamite I event, Bellator MMA returns with another must see event. This event will be headlined by a huge bantamweight division attraction as former bantamweight champion Joe Warren faces LC Davis. Also, Kendall Grove faces Joey Beltran and UFC veteran Vinicius Queiroz returns to the promotion after a long absence.

Main Card

Main Event

Bellator MMA Bantamweight Division Fight

LC Davis (23-6-0) vs. Joe Warren (12-4-0)

Davis is currently undefeated under the Bellator MMA banner, last defeating Hideo Tokoro by split decision at Bellator 135. Warren will be competing for the first time since losing his bantamweight title to Marcos Galvao at Bellator 135. Davis has not been defeated in nearly two years, with his last defeat coming to UFC veteran Ryan Roberts at Victory Fighting Championships 41. Warren is a two time Bellator MMA Bantamweight Champion, but he has never successfully defended the belt either time. Warren’s best chance at winning is to ground Davis, but Davis is a far better wrestler at this stage in their careers, Davis gets the decision win.

Co-Main Event

Bellator MMA Middleweight Division Fight

Joey “The Mexicutioner” Beltran (16-11-0-1NC) vs. Kendall “Da Spyder” Grove (21-15-0-1NC)

Beltran has won two of four fights under the Bellator MMA banner, most notably defeating Vladimir Matyushenko at Bellator 116. Grove will be competing for the first time since losing a title bout to then middleweight champion Brandon Halsey at Bellator 137. Beltran also had two separate runs in the UFC, winning three of ten fights during those two runs there. Grove has failed twice in past title opportunities, with the other one being a loss to Jesse Taylor for the K-Oz Entertainment Middleweight Title in 2013. Grive has a huge reach advantage when compared to Beltran, Grive uses that range to pick away at Beltran and get a decision win.

Bellator MMA Featherweight Division Fight

Henry “OK” Corrales (12-1-0) vs. Emmanuel “El Matador” Sanchez (10-2-0)

Corrales is currently winless in Bellator MMA, but he is a former King Of The Cage Featherweight Champion. Sanchez has won two of three fights in Bellator MMA, but he is coming off of a loss to former featherweight champion Pat Curran. These are two of the better featherweight prospects in MMA right now, but it will be Sanchez using his ground game getting a close decision victory.

Bellator MMA Heavyweight Division Fight

Vinicius “Spartan” Queiroz (7-3-0) vs. Ewerton Teixeira (3-0-0)

Queiroz is a UFC veteran who has won two of three in Bellator MMA, last defeating fellow UFC veteran Lavar Johnson at Bellator 102. Teixeira will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he will be returning to action after a two year layoff. Each fighter is coming off of long layoffs, but Queiroz has faced far better competition and he will finish Teixeira with strikes in the first.
