Former UFC and Bellator MMA veteran Lavar Johnson was arrested by Fresno County (California) police officers this past August and remains in prison to this day for assaulting his girlfriend. Johnson assaulted his girlfriend so badly that she needed staples to close one of the wounds she suffered during the attack. Johnson is being held on $175,000 bail, Bellator MMA did release Johnson from his contract sometime in 2014. Johnson holds an MMA record of 18-10-0, with his last bout prior to his arrest being a loss to Cheick Kongo at Bellator 123.
