By David Tees on 12/17/2015 6:34 PM

Kicking off the final big weekend of MMA action in 2016 will be stellar World Series Of Fighting 26 event. The event will be headlined by a featherweight title bout as Lance Palmer defends the gold against Alexandre Almaieda. Also, Ozzy Dugulubgov faces Nic Herron-Webb and several top bantamweight competitors are in action.

Main Card

Main Event

WSOF Featherweight Title Fight

Lance “The Party” Palmer (10-1-0) (Champion) vs. Alexandre “Captao” Almeida (17-5-0)

Palmer will be making the second defense of his championship, last defending it against Chris Horodecki at the WSOF 21. Almeida is currently undefeated in WSOF competition, having defeated Saul Almeida at the WSOF 24. Palmer is the only fighter in WSOF history to actually defend the featherweight belt, there were two champions before him. Almeida is a longtime veteran of the Jungle Fight promotion, where he earned seven career victories during his run. Almeida is going to want to take the fight to the ground, but Palmer is a guillotine choke wizard and he catches Almeida in the second to keep his championship.

Co-Main Event

WSOF Lightweight Division Fight

Ozzy Dugulubgov (7-2-0) vs. Nic “Naptime” Herron-Webb (18-6-0)

Dugulubgov has won four of five under the WSOF banner, including a win over TUF alumni Keon Caldwell. Herron-Webb will be making his WSOF debut in this fight and he does so on the strength of a four fight winning streak. Dugulubgov has also competed in the Cage Fury Fighting Championships, where he won three of four promotional fights. Herron-Webb has previously challenged for both the Alaska Fighting Championships and Flawless FC Lightweight Titles, coming up short both times. Herron-Webb will want to ground Dugulubgov as quickly as possible, but Dugulubgov is an amazing striker and he downs Herron-Webb in the third round.

WSOF Bantamweight Division Fight

Sheymon Moraes (7-1-0) vs. Robbie “Problems” Peralta (18-6-0-1NC)

Moraes will be competing for the first time since losing to WSOF Bantamweight Champion Marlon Moraes at the WSOF 22. Peralta will be competing for the first time since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Clay Guida at UFC Fight Night: Mendes vs. Lamas. This fight should be a stand up war for as long as the fight lasts, but it will be Peralta out striking Moraes for the decision.

WSOF Bantamweight Division Fight

“Gentleman” Josh Hill (12-1-0) vs. Bekbulat Magomedov (16-0-0)

Hill fought twice outside of the WSOF before returning to this bout, but his lone career loss came to current WSOF Bantamweight Champion Marlon Moraes. Magomedov will be making his WSOF debut in this fight and he will be returning to action after a year-plus layoff. Hill has looked good outside of the WSOF, but Magomedov is great wherever the fight goes and he will submit Hill in the second.

WSOF Light Heavyweight Division Fight

Jake “The Honey Bear” Heun (8-4-0) vs. Clinton Williams (7-2-0-1NC)

Heun competed in the WSOF Light Heavyweight Title Tournament, losing to Clifford Starks in the opening round. Williams will be making his WSOF debut in this fight and he is a former Steefist Fight Night Middleweight Champion. Williams comes into the fight as a late replacement for Tyrone Spong, but Heun will overwhelm him with strikes to get the first round finish.
