Following Elvis Mutapcic’s call up to the UFC, Josh Neer has agreed to step in on short notice to fight Anthony Smith for the vacant middleweight belt at VFC 47. Neer will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and he has not won a bout in almost two years. Smith will enter the fight riding a six fight winning streak and he will look to avenge a loss to Neer from Victory Fighting Championships 41. Victory Fighting Championships 47 takes place on January 29th from the Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska with the aforementioned fighters headlining.
