By David Tees on 2/18/2016 8:03 PM

The first Saturday event in the long line of MMA events this weekend will be a loaded One Championships 39 event. The card will be headlined by a welterweight division bout pitting Luis Santos against Rafael Silva. Also, Kotetsu Boku faces Vincent Latoel and rising women’s MMA star Angela Lee will be returning to the cage.

Main Event

One Championships Welterweight Division Fight

Luis “Sapo” Santos (61-9-1-1NC) vs. Rafael “The Machine” Silva (40-15-0)

Santos has not competed since the controversial no contest against welterweight champion Ben Askren at One Championships 26. Silva is currently winless in One Championships competition, dropping bouts to Michal Pasternak and Tatsuya Mizuno. Santos is also a longtime veteran of the Xtreme Fighting Championships promotion, where he holds a win over UFC veteran Shamar Bailey. Silva has only won just one of his last three bouts, with that lone win coming over Abdulmajid Magomedov at the International Tournament Of Pankration 2015. Santos needs a big win in order to get another title opportunity and he will get one after finishing Silva with strikes in the first.

Co-Main Event

One Championships Featherweight Division Fight

Kotetsu “No Face” Boku (23-10-2) vs. Vincent “Magnivincent” Latoel (16-16-2)

Boku has won three of his last four in One Championships, most notably defeating Major Overall at One Championships 32. Latoel has won just one of his last three in One Championships, with that lone win coming over Arnaud Lepont at One Championships 30. Boku once challenged for the One Championships Featherweight Title, losing to Shinya Aoki at One FC VIII. Latoel has not put together a winning streak in nearly nine years and that winning streak lasted for three fights. Boku is known for his striking game and wrestling prowess, Boku grounds and pounds Latoel on route to a second round finish.

One Championships Featherweight Division Fight

Yohan Mulia “The Ice Man” Legowo (7-4-0) vs. Mario Satya Wirawan (5-2-0)

Legowo will enter the fight on a three fight losing streak and he has not earned a victory in nearly six years. Wirawan will be looking to build on the momentum of his first win in One Championships, which came over Chan Heng at One Championships 34. Wirawan has a good striking game and he uses his striking to finish Legowo quickly in the first round.

One Championships Lightweight Division Fight

Rocky “The Outlaw” Batolbatol (5-1-0) vs. Anthony “The Archangel” Engelen (3-1-0)

Batolbatol is currently winless in One Championships, dropping a bout to Martin Nguyen at One FC 22. Engelen is another fighter who is currently winless in One Championships, with his loss coming to Bruno Pucci at One Championships 35. Batolbatol is slightly better than Engelen in the MMA department and he mixes it up enough to get the decision win.

One Championships Heavyweight Division Fight

Alexandre “Bebezao” Machado (7-1-0) vs. Marcin Prachnio (9-2-0)

Machado will be making his One Championships debut in this fight and he holds a win over Bellator MMA veteran Mikhail Zayats. Prachnio will also be making his One Championships debut in this fight and he is a longtime veteran of the Final Fight Championships promotion. Machado will want to get the fight to the ground, but Prachnio will use his striking game to keep Machado at a distance to earn a decision.

One Championships Flyweight Division Fight

Andrew Leone (7-2-0) vs. Koetsu Okazaki (10-4-1)

Leone is currently undefeated in One Championships, having defeated Shinichi Kojima at One FC 14 in 2014. Okazaki has won two of four fights in his One Championships stint, most notably defeating Yusup Saadulaev at One FC 18. These are two competitors who are going to want to put the fight on the ground, but it will be Leone outworking Okazaki on the ground to earn a decision.

One Championships Women’s Flyweight Division Fight

Rebecca “The Professor” Heintzman (2-1-0) vs. “Unstoppable” Angela Lee (4-0-0)

Heintzman will be making her One Championships debut in this fight, she had previously spent her entire career in the Cage Fury Fighting Championships. Lee has spent her entire career in One Championships and all four of her fights ended via stoppages. Lee has been dominating all of her opponents with her ground game and nothing changes here as she taps Heintzman in the first.

One Championships Featherweight Division Fight

Bashir “Somchai” Ahmad (3-2-0) vs. Jimmy “The Silencer” Yabo (4-2-0-1NC)

Ahmad has rotated wins and losses throughout his One Championships run, with his last bout being a loss to Amir Khan at One Championships 26. Yabo will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and he has not earned a victory in just over three years. These are two fighters who are in a desparate need of a victory and it will be Yabo finishing Ahmad with strikes to get that victory.

One Championships Welterweight Division Fight

Trestle “Jun Minion” Tan (3-5-0-1NC) vs. Djatmiko Waluyo (5-0-0)

Tan has only won just one of his last five fights and he is currently winless under the One Championships banner. Waluyo will be making his One Championships debut in this fight and he is returning to action after a two year absence. Tan does not offer anything that can possibly stop Waluyo and it will be Waluyo finishing tan with strikes in the first.

One Championships Bantamweight Division Fight

Hao Yi Jie (0-1-0) vs. Jerome Paye (2-1-0)

Jie is currently winless as a professional MMA fighter, having dropped a bout to Li Wei Bin at One FC 24. Paye will be making his One Championships debut in this fight and neither of his two victories came via decision. Paye has been looking dominant in his previous two wins and he finishes Jie with strikes in the first round.
