Despite a card being absolutely ravaged by injuries and visa issues, CES MMA 36 is moving forward with some action worth checking out. The event will be headlined by a lightweight division attraction that will be pitting Nate Andrews against Luis Muro. Also, UFC veteran Levan Makashvili and Bellator MMA veteran Matt Bessette will be stepping into the cage.
Main Card
Main Event
CES MMA Lightweight Division Fight
Nate “The Snake” Andrews (8-1-0) vs. Luis Muro (4-1-0)
Andrews has already competed eight times under the CES MMA banner, last defeating Julian Lane at CES MMA 33. Muro will be making his CES MMA debut in this fight, but he is a longtime veteran of the Rage In The Cage promotion. Andrews lone fight outside of the CES MMA promotion came in Reality Fighting, where he defeated Leroy Derricutt by TKO. Muro will be fighting for the fourth time already in 2016, he won two of those three previous fights this year. Andrews is arguably one of the best fights in CES MMA, he will be grounding and pounding Muro on route to a second round TKO.
Co-Main Event
CES MMA Lightweight Division Fight
Ryan Sanders (10-7-0) vs. Levan “The Hornet” Makashvili (7-2-1)
Sanders is currently undefeated in CES MMA competition, having defeated current lightweight champion Luis Felix by submission in a non-title bout. Makashvili will be competing for the first time since his UFC release, which came after a draw against Damon Jackson at UFC On Fox 18. Sanders is also the current Toe 2 Toe Fights Lightweight Champion, he defeated Lucas Cruz this past October to win the belt. Makashvili did not have the greatest run under the UFC banner, but he is a former Cage Fury Fighting Championships Lightweight Champion. Sanders has one of the better ground games right now and he catches Makashviili out of nowhere to get a first round submission win.
CES MMA Featherweight Division Fight
Matt “The Mangler” Bessette (18-7-0) vs. Ran Weathers (18-22-0)
Bessette bounces back and forth between fighting for CES MMA or Bellator MMA, he enters this fight on a three fight winning streak. Weathers is taking this fight on less than a day’s notice and he enters this fight riding a seven fight losing streak. Weathers is brave enough to take the fight on short notice, but Bessette will run through him with a first round TKO finish.
CES MMA Lightweight Division Fight
Josh LaBerge (10-5-0) vs. Jonathan Lemke (5-3-0)
LaBerge has won two of three under the CES MMA banner, with a notable win coming over Ran Weathers at CES MMA 35. Lemke will be making his CES MMA debut in this fight and he did compete once in Bellator MMA, where he defeated Jesse Erickson at Bellator 93. These are two fighters who are known for their striking skills, but it will be LaBerge getting a first round TKO victory.
CES MMA Lightweight Division Fight
Lewis Corapi (6-2-0) vs. Julian “Nitrane” Lane (10-6-1)
Corapi will be looking to rebound from his first loss in CES MMA banner, which came to Jay Bakanowski at CES MMA 28. Lane has only won just one of his last four fights, with that lone win coming over Antonio Castillo Jr. at IT Fight Series 43. Lane has not been his old self in his last few years of fighting, Corapi will finish Lane with strikes in the first.
CES MMA Featherweight Division Fight
Matt “The Paperboy” Tullos (1-0-0) vs. Merab Dvalishvili (1-2-0)
Tullos made his professional MMA debut earlier this year at CES MMA 33, where he defeated Shah Bachok by submission. Dvalishvili will be making his CES MMA debut in this fight and his last bout was a loss to Ricky Bandejas at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 43. Tullos has an amazing professional MMA debut earlier this year, he keeps the momentum going by defeating Dvalishvili via first round submission.
