A lightweight title bout that will see champion Gesias Cavalcante defend the gold against Freddy Assuncao. Cavalcante will be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating Pat Healy at Titan FC 39. Assuncao will enter the fight riding an eight fight winning streak, with notable wins coming over Cody Bollinger and UFC veteran Kit Cope. Titan Fighting Championships 40 takes place on August 5th from the United Bank Center in Coral Gables, Florida with the aforementioned fighters headlining.
