Main Card
Main Event
Bellator MMA Lightweight Division Fight
“Smooth” Ben Henderson (23-6-0) vs. Patricio “Pitbull” Freire (25-3-0)
Henderson is currently winless under the Bellator MMA banner, but he is a former UFC Lightweight Champion. Freire will be making his lightweight division debut in this fight and he is a former two time Bellator MMA Featherweight Champion. Henderson is returning to lightweight after a long run at welterweight, going 2-1-0 as a welterweight. Freire has won eight of his last nine fights and the only three losses of his career came in championship bouts. Henderson is nowhere near Freire in the striking game, but he is better in the wrestling game, Freire lands some big shots, but Henderson out wrestles him on route to a close decision win.
Co-Main Event
Bellator MMA Lightweight Division Fight
David “The Barbaric” Anderson (13-2-0-1NC) vs. Saad “Assassin” Awad (19-7-0)
Anderson has rotated wins and losses in his last five appearances in Bellator MMA, with his last fight being a win over Patricky Freire at Bellator 147. Awad will be returning to lightweight after a one fight stint at welterweight, where he defeated Evangelista Santos at Bellator 154. Anderson will be fighting for the first time in 2016 and he has not put a winning streak together in over two years. Awad has won four of his last five fights and he does hold a win over UFC veteran Will Brooks at Bellator 91. Awad has a great striking game and so does Anderson, but Anderson is better at mixing in the takedowns and Anderson gets a decision win.
Bellator MMA Featherweight Division Fight
Bubba “The Highlight Kid” Jenkins (11-2-0) vs. “Insane” Georgi Karakhanyan (24-6-1)
Jenkins has won seven of his last eight in Bellator MMA, with that lone loss coming to opponent Georgi Karakhanyan at Bellator 132. Karakhanyan has won just one of his last three in his second run in Bellator MMA and he is a former World Series Of Fighting Featherweight Champion. Karakhanyan caught Jenkins with a big choke in the first fight, but Jenkins learned his lesson and he uses his wrestling smartly this time to get a decision win.
Bellator MMA Featherweight Division Fight
AJ “Mercenary” McKee (4-0-0) vs. Cody “The Crow” Walker (7-4-0)
McKee has spent his entire professional MMA career in Bellator MMA and none of his fights have gone past the opening round. Walker will be returning to the promotion for the first time in two years, he has won three fights since his last appearance.
