21st ANNUAL ECWA SUPER 8 TOURNAMENT SET FOR 4/29

ECWA Super 8 Tournament just 10 days away

Attention to all indy wrestling fans! The BIGGEST event in independent wrestling is just TEN days away! Saturday April 29, 2017 it’s the next edition of the most widely known single elimination tournament in pro wrestling history… the ECWA Super 8 Tournament! The history behind this tournament is well documented… it’s been covered extensively in PWI magazine for years and former WWE Champion and Super 8 Finalist Daniel Bryan discussed it in detail in his book ‘Yes: My Improbably Journey to the Main Event of Wrestlemania’. The men who have competed in this tournament have gone on to main event companies all over the world from WWE to TNA to ROH and even New Japan! It’s a heritage and lineage that’s never lost on any of the 8 men who are chosen by ECWA management every year.

This year the tournament has gone back to its roots! We’ve chosen some of the most hard hitting, high flying, and talented young wrestlers in the United States today. The field of 8 is impressive to say the least… we’ll go over the field briefly so you know who’s battling for the coveted trophy and the right to write his name in wrestling history forever:

Lio Rush- Rush is one of the most widely known high flyers in the business today. He’s fought almost all the top names on the indies. He’s even won the ROH Top Prospect tournament… needless to say he’s probably the odds on favorite to win it all.

‘Mr 500’ Timmy Lou Retton- Retton isn’t your typical Super 8 participant. With his size and strength no one could expect him to be able to fly around the ring like a luchador. But he does! He’ll be one to watch as he has a definitive advantage over the field.

‘Mr Excellence’ Brandon Scott- Scott’s star is on the rise! He recently appeared for WWE’s 205 live, reserved for the best cruiserweights in wrestling. With his technical/mat abilities he’ll look to out finesse the other 7 competitors with his superior ring intelligence.

‘The Human Rocket’ LSG- LSG was trained at the world famous Monster Factory. That means he’ll be technically sound on top of his amazing aerial ability. How will the others react when the they face a man who’s willing to put his body on the line just to win?

‘The Bad Boy’ Joey Janela- Known for his cocky attitude, Janela is one of wrestling’s best kept secrets. Able to match speed, strength, and technical ability with just about anyone he’ll be a fan favorite. Doesn’t hurt he’s just as entertaining with his antics as his wrestling.

Zombiie King- The son of a famous lucha wrestler… Zombiie King is absolutely silky in the ring. He’ll put on the most impressive showing through the air out of the field of 8. With his devastating blows he’ll gain the backing of the crowd. Dark horse candidate to take it all!

‘The High Top Fading, Hip Hop Parading’ Anthony Bennett- Bennett is the least known in the this year’s class. However, he’s also a Monster Factory product. He’s going to hit hard and take to the air to shock and awe everyone! It’s no mistake so early in his career he was chosen for the WWE Cruiserweight Classic.

‘Chainsaw’ Joe Gacy- The current CZW Champion has broken out in a big way in 2017. His power wrestling is some of the most impressive on the indies. Gacy’s mantra is keep on attacking to get to the win… an interesting dynamic in a field full of smaller high flyers.

There you have it a look at the field of 8! This might be the first year since the New Era began that there is almost no chance to accurately predict a winner. Any of the men listed above can win… all of them are on the cusp of being the next BIG wrestling star! The tournament will be the loudest and most unpredictable event you’ll see all year from ANY WRESTLING COMPANY! The cliché “Can’t Miss” doesn’t even accurately describe it.

And even better… there has been 2 BONUS MATCHES ADDED! These non tournament matches are often added featuring some of ECWA’s top talents. It’s become a fan favorite tradition! The 2 matches?

ECWA Heavyweight Championship: Azrieal ( C ) w/ AJ Pan vs. ‘Heartkiller’ Chris Wylde- Azrieal finally took down Sean Carr last month and won ‘Big Red’ fair and square. However, during the match Chris Wylde brutally attacked Az… and ONLY him. According to the ’Heartkiller’ himself it’s because he feels ECWA management favored Az and replaced him as the token man to take down Carr. In this huge co-main event, Azrieal makes his first title defense!

ECWA Tag Team Championship: Pan Corp Agency ( C ) vs. Extreme Rednecks (Chuck & Kyle Payne) NO DISQUALIFICATION- The PCA and Rednecks have had a heated feud going on for months now… with the Rednecks actually getting the better of the champions. But every time they come in for the kill the PCA finds a way to weasel out of it! This time there is no running… and there is NO RULES! Can the Rednecks win gold again?
