Main Event set for ECWA 50 Year Anniversary Show
Professional wrestling is an ever changing business that’s evolved a great deal from it’s early days as almost a side show act to it’s stadium packing events now. Companies have come and gone as the times have changed… especially in independent wrestling. However, one company has never went away. One company has stood for showcasing the very best professional wrestling on the East Coast… and that’s the ECWA! Believe or not, ECWA is coming up on it’s 50 year anniversary! Barely anything in this world has remained the same over the last 5 decades but here we are about to celebrate half a century of professional wrestling! Saturday September 16 is the date to mark on your calendar!
ECWA management has went to work putting together a card full of today’s ECWA stars and names from the past.. A perfect storm of the past meets the present! The main event has officially been announced and it’s one etched in recent company history. In fact, these two names did battle for almost a year over the ECWA Heavyweight Championship!
The Main Event will be ECWA Heavyweight Champion Azrieal defending against ‘Wrestling’s True Talent’ Bobby Shields!
You have heard that correctly! Shields and Azrieal were once best friends. They traveled all over the East Coast as partners and sometimes opponents. However, there was always a mutual respect and powerful friendship between the two. That was until Azrieal turned his back on Shields and joined the PCA under the tutelage of AJ Pan. Over most of 2015 and 2016, Shields was ECWA Heavyweight Champion and Azrieal was sick with jealously over it. After doing battle back and forth month in and month out, Azrieal eventually defeated Shields and won ‘Big Red’. Shields would try to regain it but come up short… his last one vs. Az being a ‘LOSER LEAVES ECWA’ match at last year’s Anniversary Show. The terms of that contract are now up… and Bobby Shields is back for VENGENCE!
THIS IS A REMATCH A YEAR IN THE MAKING!
This is absolutely the kind of news you’ll get when ECWA has it’s annual Anniversary Show! One of the best men to ever step foot in an ECWA ring vs. One of the most popular men in company history! This main event will be hard hitting and personal… BAD BLOOD written all over it!
