UWC TO INDUCT 2018 HALL OF FAME NEXT MONTH DURING RETURN TO NJ

By Mike Johnson on 2/10/2018 7:43 AM

The United Wrestling Coalition returns to Kelly's Banquet Hall in Wrightstown, New Jersey on March 10 for our 22nd Anniversary Event featuring the 2018 UWC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony! Doors open at 6:30 with a 7:00 p.m. bell time, and admission is $10.

Last year, Referee George Pinaha, The Orphan, Billy Lassiter, and The Ripper were the first four inductees into the UWC Hall of Fame. On March 10, they will be joined by three more inductees. Who will be in the UWC Hall of Fame Class of 2018?

Trained by the late “Iron” Mike Sharpe, the first inductee into the UWC Hall of Fame Class of 2018 is none other than Mark “The Cannon” Melaccio! Following numerous WWF television appearances in the mid-90s, Cannon made his way to the United Wrestling Coalition. On December 5, 1998, he won a battle royal to win the vacant UWC Heavyweight Championship and enjoyed a 161-day title reign. Melaccio eventually transitioned to a behind-the-scenes position as Production Manager, a role he held from 1999-2001 when he left the company. Mark Melaccio has made several return appearances over the years, including a Legends Match in 2016, and most recently, a bout with Textbook Philly Madison last March.

The second inductee into the UWC Hall of Fame Class of 2018 is the one and only Joe Rules! A fixture on the indy wrestling scene for over a quarter of a century, this former ECW ring crew member trained by JT Smith has won championships in the JWA, PCW, ECPW, and JAPW, among others. Joe Rules was rated #500 in the 1997 PWI 500, earning himself the name "Mr. 500." He was even a guest on the Jerry Springer Show! But Joe Rules found his greatest success in the United Wrestling Coalition, where he was often accompanied by Luxurious Lynne, Patricia M. Steinman, or Liz Savage. Not only is Joe Rules a former UWC Heavyweight Champion, he's also held the North American Title and the United States Title. In addition, Joe Rules has been a manager, commentator, and commissioner. Having retired from the ring in 2013, Joe Rules currently serves as the honorable UWC President.

The third and final inductee into this year's UWC Hall of Fame Class is Silly Billy! Known for his entrance music, various hats, and childlike wonder, Silly Billy is arguably the most popular wrestler in UWC history. This colorful character is one of only five men to have held every title the United Wrestling Coalition currently offers, including two reigns as Heavyweight Champion. He also won The Browns Mills Rumble in 2014. Due to health issues, Silly Billy hung up the tights in 2016, defeating “The One” Geoffrey Bravo for the United States Championship in his final bout. Now, as “Serious William,” he is the voice of the UWC, serving as ring announcer at our events and continuing to entertain the fans.

Please join us March 10 at Kelly's Banquet Hall in Wrightstown, New Jersey as we welcome Mark Melaccio, Joe Rules, and Silly Billy to the United Wrestling Coalition Hall of Fame Class of 2018!

Fredo Majors defeated “American Muscle” Nate Mustang in a Loser Leaves Town Match in December and decided to go on vacation himself to celebrate, but the Heavyweight Title will be on the line March 10 in Wrightstown as T.G.I. Fredo Majors defends his championship against one half of the Tag Team Champions, The “Lost Boy” Jay Kirby! Kirby & Spectrum (The Sons Of Liberty) were originally scheduled to defend the Tag Team Title against, representing The Fraternity, “Brilliant” Bobby Banks & Ace Matthews, but unfortunately while training for this championship match, Bobby Banks suffered a broken foot and will not be medically cleared to compete in time. This frees up Jay Kirby to face the Heavyweight Champion as he attempts to extract a measure of revenge on behalf of his friend Nate Mustang! This is one match you DO NOT want to miss!

Spectrum will take on Ace Matthews in a one-on-one bout.

Definitely Donnie, who has reigned as champion since defeating Jimmy Pipes in September in the UWC's 1000th match, will defend the United States Title against his toughest challenger to date: “The One” Geoffrey Bravo! Bravo has held every championship belt that UWC has to offer, and on March 10, he will attempt to become a three-time US titleholder!

Mr. Black's stable has suffered a series of setbacks over the past few months, but he has vowed that his team will become bigger and better than ever, and he added Delmonico The Destroyer as his latest acquisition to prove it! Mr. Black issued an open challenge for any three wrestlers to face his team of Textbook Philly Madison & Bobby Piper & Delmonico. The challenge was immediately accepted by the legendary Kid America who makes his United Wrestling Coalition return on March 10 at Kelly's Banquet Hall. He will be joined by the enormously popular Jay “The Key” Evans, and the impressive newcomer Tony Vee! Is Mr. Black and his men in for a long night or will they prove their dominance once and for all?

Other UWC favorites scheduled for action March 10 at Kelly's Banquet Hall include Charlie Bonifer, Doom Crew, Kentucky Bluegrass, Jimmy Pipes, Dave Reed, Joe Wolf, and more!

And don’t forget to check out Kelly’s Bar after the show - The Buzztones will be performing in the bar from 8:00 p.m.-midnight!

Remember, UWC returns to Kelly's Banquet Hall, 14 Railroad Avenue, Wrightstown, NJ 08562, Saturday, March 10, 2018. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., bell time is 7:00 p.m., and tickets are only $10. Card subject to change.
