WRESTLING STARS SET FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL VISIT

ICW and Get Well Gamers join forces for joint donation

Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) and Get Well Gamers UK have announced that they will visit Royal Hospital for Sick Children on Saturday, 28 July to carry out a joint donation to patients on the ward. Press are invited to attend at 11AM with the wrestlers scheduled to be there from 11AM-12PM.

Confirmed for the visit is Women’s Champion and BBC star Viper, Commonwealth athlete Joe Hendry, Chris Renfrew, Lionheart, Ravie Davie and Scot Squad star Chris Toal.

ICW rose to fame after the success of two BBC documentaries Insane Fight Club which focused on the wrestling company’s rise from Maryhill Community Halls to selling out the world famous Barrowland Ballroom with current WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre. Since then they have gone on to sell out the SECC and drew an attendance of over 6,000 people at SSE Hydro.

Get-Well Gamers UK (GWG) is a Glasgow-based charity that takes donated video games and consoles to sick children in hospital across the UK. The charity was founded in 2014 and donate around 120 consoles and 2,500 games to children’s hospitals and ward per year. Founder and Chair James Stewart, based in Glasgow, is a fan of ICW and thought that the visit would be a winner for both sides.

The visit comes ahead of ICW’s two-day Shug’s Hoose Party event at O2 Academy in Glasgow that weekend which features WWE Hall of Fame inductee Jeff Jarrett, Viper, Jack Jester, Lionhear and more. Weekend and single day tickets are available from ticketmaster.co.uk and tickets-scotland.com. Tickets purchased before the venue change are still valid.
