(OSHKOSH, Wis.) – Former college wrestlers and fans around the world have a new opportunity to enjoy the sport they love. American Prostyle Wrestling LLC (APW) is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement with Menominee Nation Arena to host and broadcast all of its inaugural season matches.

APW recently launched a team-based league that combines the three wrestling disciplines of Greco-Roman, Freestyle, and Folkstyle into one action-packed, specialized form of combat. Eight teams, including both male and female athletes, will compete against one another in dual matches to be held at the arena monthly from July 2019 through February 2020.

“Because wrestling is a marketable sport with a strong fan base, wrestlers should be able to make money doing something they love,” says Daniel Jackson, American Prostyle Wrestling founder. The former University of Minnesota wrestler and high school coach adds, “We created this league to provide wrestlers some financial security while pursuing their dreams after college of competing internationally and winning Olympic and World Championship medals.”

“We’re excited to offer this unique sporting event not only to wrestling fans in the Midwest, but around the world through live-streaming and the state-of-the-art technology in our facility,” says Greg Pierce, President, Fox Valley Pro Basketball.

Several national champions and Division I and II All-Americans have already committed to the league, like Nick Becker, a 2018 graduate of University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

“After college, I really wanted to keep competing, but financially it wasn’t feasible for me, and I had no interest in competing in leagues like WWE [World Wrestling Entertainment] or MMA [mixed martial arts],” says Becker, the three-time NCAA Division II champion. “So, I did what a lot of former wrestlers do and began coaching. I’m excited that this summer I’ll be back competing on the mat.”

“I wish APW would have been an option for me after college,” says Dan "The Beast" Severn, former UFC champion. “While I was successful professionally in other formats, I’m a ‘wrestling purist’ at heart. APW matches will be family-friendly with some of the ‘best of the best’ former college wrestlers competing against one another.”

Season tickets to watch matches in person are on sale now and start at $95, available at https://menomineenationarena.com/event/american-prostyle-wrestling/all/. Fans from around the world can enjoy all of the action from the comfort of home, as APW will live-stream all matches. An annual subscription to watch the entire first season is only $45 and available at https://apswrestling.com/product/apw-league-pass/.
