OWE UK Tournaments Announced

SHANGHAI (June 26, 2019) – Oriental Wrestling Entertainment (OWE), the China based wrestling promotion headlined by members of the Stronghearts, today unveiled the UK Championship Tournaments.

Hot on the heels of All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing event in Las Vegas featuring OWE’s Stronghearts, OWE are pleased to announce that they are expanding to the UK.

OWE are looking to raise the bar even higher as they aim to not only tour in the UK but also launch OWE United Kingdom. This sister promotion will feature not only OWE China talent, but also those from Japan, Taiwan, United Kingdom and further afield.

Dragon Fu, President of OWE will reveal spectacular new signings, exciting new partnerships, ticket on-sale information and surprise special guests over the coming weeks. “We have today signed two of the UK’s top talent to OWE contracts “Filthy Gorgeous” Rob Sharpe and Scotland’s own Lou King Sharp; they will travel to China today to begin touring with us and get a better understanding of our Kung-Fu style of professional wrestling.  In addition, we have appointed Sean McMahon as SVP of OWE United Kingdom and Jay Apter as Head of Creative.”

Billed as 6ft 4in, 240lb’s, Rob Sharpe from Leicester, is filthy, gorgeous and the man with the golden tan. Pound for pound one of the strongest up and coming heavyweight wrestlers around today.  Don't let his pink ring attire fool you, as he uses mind games and filthy ways to lure in his opponents, before unleashing his power, strength and aggression in full force upon his opponents.

Trained by Stixx, Rob’s career highlights include winning the Frontline Puro European Openweight Championship, IPW’s Z Force and Tag Team Championships, and has wrestled against top talent such as Shigehiro Irie, Matt Taven, Mark Haskins, Jimmy Havoc, David Starr, Kip Sabian, Jody Fleish, and Chris Brookes.  Rob also competed in the IPW event in New York for WrestleMania week.

Arriving next week in Shanghai, Rob Sharpe will be not coming alone and he will be bringing his “Big Brother” and Scotland’s own Lou King Sharp.

Although billed as 5ft 4in and 12 stone, Scotland’s Lou King Sharp is one wrestler not to mess with.  He has earned the moniker of the “Blood Tourist” due to his savage and un-relentless approach in the ring in over 10 countries including Denmark, Italy, Norway, and the USA. Lou King Sharp has a unique blend of comedy, hardcore and high flying ability.

A main-stay of ICW in Scotland and trained by Kid Fite, Lou King Sharp’s career has seem him compete against some of the best in the business, including The Young Bucks, D-Von Dudley, The Briscoe Brothers and even Grado, Viper and Hornswoggle.

Sean McMahon added “This is an incredible opportunity for the UK.  In true OWE style, fans can expect a slice of the unexpected with all this talent on one stage.  The United Kingdom is a hotbed of pro-wrestling and OWE United Kingdom will bridge the gap between the East and West.  One thing is for sure, the dream matches that everyone thought not possible will now become a reality.”
