AJA KONG, THUNDER ROSA AND MORE: 1/4 TOKYO JOSHI PRO RESULTS FROM TOKYO

Sena Shiori and Mahiro Kiryu vs. Haruna Neko and Suzume

This is the debut Shiori. There is commentary for this event which they don’t usually do for TJPW but Jan. 4 is a big event day.

Suzume used a sleeper to tap out Shiori. This was the first win for the rookie Suzume.

Hyper Misao vs. Shoko Nakajima in a Piñata Match

This match has to do with new name rights. The first person to break the piñata wins the match and the loser must use a new name given by the winner for a month.

Nakajima had a bag of kaiju plastic action figures as her choice of weapons. Misao had a kidnapped and reluctant Tetsuya Koda (TJPW co-founder) as her weapon.

Nakajima won the match by climbing the ladder and grabbing a name sash inside. I don’t know who Koda was trying to help in the finish but it backfired. Early in the match he tried to help Nakajima by holding Misao down for her to give a senton. Misao fought him off and Nakajima ended up landing on the plastic toys in the ring.

DDT Heavymetalweight Champion Saki Akai vs. Yuki Kamifuku

AKI got the pin with the Quetzalcoatl.

Aja Kong, Pom Harajuku, and Raku vs. Yuna Manase, Mina Shirakawa, and Mari Maiumi

Kong came out holding the DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Title up high with pride which means she defeated Akai for it backstage somehow after the previous match.

Kong pinned Maiumi after the second rope elbow drop but not before destroying her first with a lariat and a backdrop suplex.

A very fun and entertaining match which saw Kong join Harajuku and Raku in doing the Good Night Express routine where they walk in a circle and step on the chest of their opponent. They did it to Shirakawa and then Kong sat on her.

Sareee vs. Natsumi Maki

Sareee got the pinned after a kick to the jaw and a suplex. This was Maki‘s first match back after an injury in a match with Yuna Manase months ago.

This was a excellent hard hitting contest that some people writing in to W.W.D. considered a Match of the Year candidate. Sareee gave Maki a couple of drop kicks up against the ropes that looked like they could have taken her face off. Later in the match, she crunched Maki with a German Suplex.

They announced their schedule for 2020 including a date on 11/7 at Tokyo Dome City Hall.

Thunder Rosa vs. Mizuki

Rosa got the pin in another good match after the shoulder breaker into the Rosa Driver like she used on Ashley Vox a couple weeks ago on NWA Powerrr.

International Princess Champion Maki Itoh vs. Hikari Noa

Itoh won with the Itoh Special submission. Another very good match. I don’t think anyone expected Itoh to lose as she has become very popular with fans of the company around the world.

After the match, Itoh was cutting a promo and Thunder Rosa slowly walked in the ring looking unimpressed with her. Rosa spoke in English and said Itoh has never faced anybody like her before. Itoh spoke in English (she has been taking lessons) and said “What are you saying, I speak Japanese?” Rosa then said something to her in Japanese.

Itoh got in Rosa’s face and did one of her unhinged rants but Rosa stood calm and stoic. Rosa said she wasn’t scared and wanted a title shot.

Itoh said she would give her a shot at tomorrow’s show which takes place at Itabashi Green Hall.

They exchanged middle fingers in each other’s faces then Rosa shoved Itoh down. Itoh looked shocked laying in a pile of streamers in the ring as Rosa walked to the back.

Princess Tag Team Champions Miu Watanabe and Rika Tatsumi vs. Nodoka Tenma and Yuki Aino

Wantanabe pinned Aino after the Tear Drop.

Princess Champion Yuka Sakazaki vs. Miyu Yamashita

Sakazaki got the pin after the Magical Girl Splash to top off a very fine evening of wrestling.

There was a fun moment as they battled at the past the top row of the building. Sakazaki placed Yamashita on top of a flat table and pushed it down the stairs making it look like Yamashita was on a snow sled. Tetsuya Koda jumped in and stopped the “table sled” half way down but Sakazaki kicked him away and pushed Yamashita all the way down to the floor.

Sakazaki grabbed the table and set it up against a ring post. She gave Yamashita a DVD into it but it did not break. She then picked Yamashita up and slammed her into it for the break.

Sakazaki got on the mic and said the company is getting bigger and there will be big things going forward.

This was a strong show and worth checking out.

Update: Saki Akai won the DDT Heavymetalweight Title back from Aja Kong. Kong was doing an interview with the press and Akai hit her over the head with something for the pin.
