By Shannon Walsh on 2/15/2020 7:49 AM

Chigusa Nagayo’s GAEA will return for one event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on 4/15/20 in celebration of 25 years since its debut. The first show was April 15, 1995 at Korakuen. They held their last show also at Korakuen in April 2005. The venue was their home for monthly events.

Takumi Iroha vs. Chihiro Hashimoto and Chigusa Nagayo, Meiko Satomura, and Sakura Hirota vs. KAORU, Chikayo Nagashima, and Toshie Uematsu are the matches announced so far.

The trios match is a historic milestone because Satomura, Nagashima, and Uematsu all made their pro wrestling debuts on that very first GAEA show.

Here are the results of that debut show from April 15, 1995:

Chikayo Nagashima went to a 15-minute time limit draw with Toshie Uematsu.

Chikayo Nagashima went to a 3-minutes overtime time limit draw with Toshie Uematsu.

Chikayo Nagashima went to a second overtime 3-minutes time limit draw with Toshie Uematsu.

Meiko Satomura beat Sonoko Kato by cross armbar submission. (Satomura was 15 years old here and Kato was 18).

Bomber Hikari pinned Sumiyo Toyama after the Over The Top Bomb.

Toshie Sato pinned Maiko Narita after a spinning neck breaker.

KAORU beat Yasha Kurenai.

Devil Masami and Mayumi Ozaki beat Chigusa Nagayo and Dynamite Kansai when Ozaki pinned Nagoyo. https://youtu.be/TI3LuNUf2WY

Chigusa Nagayo was the first AAAW Champion defeating Devil Masami. Meiko Satomura and Sonoko Kato were the first AAAW Tag Team Champions defeating Chikayo Nagashima and Sugar Sato. Both matches took place on 11/2/1996.

The company had such popularity and critical acclaim in its time a gritty documentary was made about it called “GAEA Girls”(2000). Thanks to the gift that keeps on giving of YouTube you can watch it here
