WARRIOR WRESTLING 8 RESULTS FROM CHICAGO, IL

By Shannon Walsh on 2/16/2020 7:47 AM

Warrior Wrestling 8 results from Chicago Heights, Illinois at Marian Catholic High School on 2/15/20 and live on FITE https://www.fite.tv/watch/warrior-wrestling-8/2p5cy/

Cavernario vs. Templario

Cavernario won by a reverse chinlock submission set up by a backstabber.

Robert Anthony came out to the ring with Frank The Clown. Frank cut his usual annoying heel promo and sang a song off key to boast that Anthony will be the new WW Champion.

Robert Anthony vs. Warhorse

They announcers said Brian Cage is there and he is looking for someone to replace him in the War of Attrition Match for the now vacant title. Cage can not compete to defend the title due to a bicep injury.

Anthony got the pin after a DVD when Frank distracted the referee by getting up on the ring just as Warhorse was about to win.

After the match, Anthony cut a promo and said he earned a spot in the title match. He said he decided that he doesn’t want to wrestle twice tonight to burn himself out and cost himself winning the title. He said he was giving up his spot to Frank instead.

Ren Narita vs. Alex Shelley

The announcers said Amazing Red was originally supposed to be in this match vs. Shelley but he wasn’t cleared to compete.

Shelley won by a crossface submission set up by a flatliner. They shook hands afterwards and Narita bowed to the crowd. The fans chanted “Please Come Back” at him.

WentzTrey, and Dez vs. CIMA, T-Hawk, and Lindaman

Cima pinned Trey after the meteora. They all shook hands and posed for a group photo op in the ring after.

Bully Ray vs. Brian Pillman Jr. in a Chicago Street Fight

The announcers said that Ray was using the death of Pillman’s father going into this match to taunt him.

Pillman got ring in Ray’s face before the bell. Ray got on the mic and said they shouldn’t just have a regular match. He asked what kind of match would be fitting for Chicago that they would like to see. They said Street Fight when you think they would have wanted a Tables Match with Ray involved.

Ray ended up power bombing Pillman through a table as the finish for the pin anyway. Pillman hit Ray in the face and made him bleed in the opening few minutes. It looked like his cheek was cut but the announcer kept selling it as a broken nose.

After the match, Ray got on the mic and said Pillman has a long way to go before he’s as good as his father or him. He said Pillman did show guts and if he could make it back up to his feet he would shake his hand. Pillman was slow to get up from the table rubble and they shook hands then Ray left the ring.

War of Attrition Match for Tessa Blanchard’s Warrior Wrestling Women’s Title

This is confusing rules. The announcers said it’s a blind draw to make an 8-man Tag Team Match. Then it goes to a regular tag match where the winner of the fall of the 8-man can pick her partner and finally a one on one match.

Blanchard came out last to a lot of boos. She had the Impact World Title with her as well.

Tessa BlanchardBritt BakerMadison Rayne and Taya Valkyrie vs. Kylie Rae, Big Swole, Tasha Steelzand Ray Lyn

The announcers said the crowd knows about the reports of Blanchard being an alleged bully. They said they never had a problem with her and all of the stories about her seem to be always with other women.

Baker tapped out Lyn with the lock jaw. There was confusion over if Lyn tapped even though it clearly looked like she did. So the win eliminated the entire face team.

Baker got to pick her partner from her winning team. The announcers are even confused on the rules and the crowd is fairly silent. Baker picked Rayne forcing Blanchard to team with Valkyrie.

Warrior Wrestling Women’s Champion Tessa Blanchard and Taya Valkyrie vs. Britt Baker and Madison Rayne in the second stage

Valkyrie pinned Rayne after the Road To Valhalla.

Women’s Champion Tessa Blanchard vs. Taya Valkyrie in the final stage

Blanchard got the pin after the buzzsaw DDT when Valkyrie charged at her in the corner but ended up hitting one of the turnbuckles head first. Blanchard nodded in respect towards Valkyrie after the match and left with both titles in hand.

Intermission

In full disclosure I switched over to watch the Tokyo Joshi Pro show at the same time so these final three matches aren’t detailed.

Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions The North beat Space Pirates

Jonathan Gresham beat Daga.

Brian Pillman Jr. won the War of Attrition Match for the vacant Warrior Wrestling Title over Sam Adonis.
