Lucasfilm issued the following statement this evening:
“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
The MMA star turned actor had been under fire for a number of comments on social media in recent months - a number of which she removed in recent days - before today's announcement
Carano had portrayed Cara Dune on both seasons of the streaming Star Wars series The Mandalorian.
