DANA WHITE: “I GOT PLANS, TOO” TO BRING FANS BACK TO UFC EVENTS THIS YEAR

It has been nearly a year since fans have attended a UFC event stateside, but UFC President Dana White may be ready for fans to return to shows.

White revealed at the UFC 258 post-fight press conference that he has plans to get fans back in the arena for future UFC cards.

“I got plans, too!” he said (via MMA Junkie). “I’m not doing a percentage – I want to sell out. It’s too nice over here (at the UFC Apex). I like it here. … I said on ESPN the other day that I was optimistic that by this summer we could be doing it, either in Florida or here.”

Fans did return to the arenas during fight week for UFC 257, but those events took place overseas and not in the United States. Other entities like the NFL, NCAA Football, AEW Wrestling and others have found ways to get fans into most stadiums for their events, but the fans were staggered and socially distanced due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

UFC 248, which took place in March of 2020, was the last UFC event in the United States to have fans in attendance.
