By David Tees on 2/16/2021 12:24 PM

A bantamweight division rematch has been added to UFC Fight Night 186, according to MMA Fighting, as #8 Pedro Munhoz faces #9 Jimmie Rivera.

Munhoz (18-5-0-1NC) enters the contest riding a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Aljamain Sterling and Frankie Edgar. Munhoz hasn’t picked up a win in almost two years, with that last victory coming over Cody Garbrandt at UFC 235. Munhoz has won seven of ten since the first meeting with Rivera, which came at UFC Fight Night 77 in November of 2015.

Rivera (23-4-0) has won two of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over John Dodson and Cody Stamann. Rivera won the first encounter between himself and Munhoz, with that win coming by split decision at UFC Fight Night 77. Rivera has competed 27 times as a professional MMA fighter and 20 of them went the distance.

UFC Fight Night 186 takes place on Saturday, February 27 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Ciryl Gane and Jairzinho Rozenstruik headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
