UFC fighters Khamzat Chimaev and Leon Edwards were scheduled to headline three UFC Fight Night cards, but the latest bout, scheduled for March 13, was canceled after Chimaev withdrew due to his ongoing battle with COVID-19.
Chimaev’s manager in Ali Abdelaziz recently told ESPN that the UFC has flown Chimaev to the United States to help the fighter in his battle with the effects of COVID-19. Chimaev released a video last week stating just how much his health has been affected by the virus, revealing that he has taken many trips to the hospital and was even transported to the hospital one time during a training session.
ESPN also reports that Chimaev, who is 3-0-0 in the UFC, expects to return by June, but nothing is set in stone at this time.
