Leon Edwards finally has a new opponent for the UFC Fight Night 187 main event as Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports that Belal Muhammad will replace Khamzat Chimaev against Edwards.

Edwards (18-3-0) enters the contest riding an eight fight winning streak and he hasn’t been defeated in over five years. Edwards has suffered two losses during his time in the UFC, with one of them coming to UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman. Edwards has previously headlined two UFC cards, defeating the duo of Donald Cerrone and Rafael Dos Anjos.

Muhammad (18-3-0) is headlining his first ever UFC card and does so while riding a four fight winning streak. Muhammad has suffered all of his pro MMA defeats in the UFC and his last loss came just over two years ago. Muhammad has competed 21 times as a professional MMA fighter and 15 of those bouts went the distance.

UFC Fight Night 187 takes place on Saturday, March 13 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
