The UFC Women’s Strawweight Title is expected to be defended at UFC 261 according to ESPN as champion Weili Zhang puts the gold on the line against #1 Rose Namajunas.

Zhang (21-1-0) is making the second defense of her championship, previously defending it against Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 248. Zhang won the title with a first round TKO victory over Jessica Andrade in the main event of UFC Fight Night 157. Zhang enters the bout on a 21 fight winning streak and she hasn’t been defeated in over six years.

Namajunas (9-4-0) has won four of her last five under the UFC banner, with her last bout being a win over the aforementioned Andrade at UFC 251. Namajunas is a former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion, defeating the aforementioned Jedrzejczyk to win the gold at UFC 217. Namajunas has competed 13 times as a pro MMA fighter and five of those battles went the distance.

UFC 261 takes place on Saturday, April 24 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
