By David Tees on 2/27/2021 5:18 AM

A heavyweight division attraction has been announced for Bellator 255 by the promotion’s Twitter feed as Matt Mitrione faces Tyrell Fortune.

Mitrione (13-8-0-1NC) enters the contest riding a three fight losing streak and he hasn’t won a fight in over three years. Mitrione’s last win came at Bellator 218 in February of 2018, defeating Roy Nelson by majority decision. Mitrione has picked up 11 of 13 wins by KO/TKO, with the rest coming by way of decision.

Fortune (9-1-0-1NC) has won just one of his last three in Bellator, with that lone win coming over Said Sowma at Bellator 251. Fortune has spent his entire pro MMA career in Bellator, debuting at Bellator 163 in November of 2016. Fortune has competed 11 times as a pro MMA fighter and just three of those bouts went the distance.

Bellator 255 takes place on Friday, April 2 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Patricio Pitbull and Emmanuel Sanchez headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Showtime.
