REPORT: KANA WATANABE FACES ALEJANDRA LARA AT BELLATOR 255

A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 255 according to ESPN as Kana Watanabe faces Alejandra Lara.

Watanabe (9-0-1) has fought once before under the Bellator banner, defeating Ilara Joanne by third round TKO at Bellator 237. Watanabe is competing for the first time in over a year, as her last bout happened in December of 2019. Watanabe has earned nine wins as a pro fighter, with three by KO/TKO, three by submission and three by decision.

Lara (9-3-0) has won three of five in Bellator, with those wins coming over Lena Ovchynnikova, Taylor Turner and Veta Arteaga. Lara hasn’t been defeated in over two years, with her last loss coming to Juliana Velasquez at Bellator 212 in December of 2018. Lara has suffered three losses in her pro MMA career, with all of them coming to Bellator or UFC fighters.

Bellator 255 takes place on Friday, April 2 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Patricio Pitbull and Emmanuel Sanchez headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Showtime.
