BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal and UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman met for the first time at UFC 251 in July of 2020, with Usman retaining his title on that night.
It seems that both fighters will be stepping into the cage again, as Masvidal is stating that the rematch is taking place this September.
“Right now, I’m focused on me. Fighting for the belt, which is gonna be in August/September. Actually, September, we just got word on this,” Masvidal said backstage during the Canelo Alvarez-Avni Yildrim event in Miami (transcript via Bloody Elbow).
Masvidal accepted the first fight against Usman on about a weeks notice, so the BMF Champion should have a full training camp the second time around.
